Brought people together, the black areas of the city are still destroyed I lived there from August of 2012 to July 2015 and I can tell you from first hand experience the city is still rebuilding especially in the lower 9th and 9th Ward Comment from : lewis Whitman |
What happened to "nothing happens in heaven or Earth without god's approval" huh? The god you believe in caused, or was complicit in, thousands of deaths under Katrina's wind, rain and flooding What sort of sick mental gymnastics you have to go thru to justify and call it "loving" when He, The Lord YOUR God does all those things? Humanity still has a long way to go before we are free of the con-job that is religion Note that no gods or angels are going to help the city rebuild or give comfort to the survivors Only flesh and blood people can do that, rebuild I mean Comment from : dgracey01 |

A woman in NC weeks after we survived Katrina and ran asked me, "Aren't you angry with God?" "Why would I? He was at our shoulders every step" God did not bring Katrina but he delivered us from itand let me tell you there were dozens of men in flatboats during the storm rescuing ppl from trees, roofs, swimming in debrisso many heroes We were in the Diamondhead hotel and they were dropping off the rescued, with no shoes, no clothes, just a blanket We managed to clothe and feed them and we are grateful that we could do that Comment from : Maggie King |

This hurricane will go down in history Comment from : Syvestral Gaming |
It is FINALLY so wonderful to witness an HONEST account of the bravery, and selfless character displayed by members of the community Especially, after so much of the narrative has been perversely hijacked by conspiracy mongers falsely proclaiming their loved ones were somehow murdered and raped at the Superdome Your testimony regarding the love, dedication, and heroism exhibited that day and beyond is truly awe-inspiring! Comment from : KWM Video |
For what it's worth, I increasingly felt the pain so many Katrina victims felt As a baby boomer kid, I naively thought that New Orleans was on its way to becoming one of the great metropolises of America if not the world That opportunity had already been disavowed by the 60s My heart and thoughts continue to live with the residents today Nagin ended up in prison Michael Brownie resigned But the real tragedy is the 9th Ward I've seen it right before and after That once vibrant neighborhood still feels haunted by the souls that didn't make it Comment from : Bochanable |
