I didn't see a comment explaining what they're doing In this style of debate, the other team has to have a counterpoint to every point they have Back in the 90s (?) a debate team realized that a good way to win would be to just throw out as many points as possible and no one speaking at a normal pace would be able to argue every point Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, that's just the story I heard

This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen Isn't the point of a debate to learn about an issue, about why people feel and think the way they do, and perhaps come closer to the truth of the matter if an objective truth exists for the subject at hand? I think debate is a great way to learn by doing research and providing good arguments, but I'd rather lose every time, if it meant that I had to "spread" or talk as fast as possible to get as much information out as possible in order to win
