Read somewhere the church was the largest (think seating) in SA until the Groote Kerk in Cape town decided it was not on and added a balcony which restored there ego brInteresting it also have one of the widest main roads, because there is only one road in and out of town, and it was this wide for the ox wagons to be able to turn around to exit town brPragtige dorp! Sal graag self wil besoek eendag Comment from : H M |

That was a lovely episode Those amazing mountain formations, both the vertical slices and the folded ones are part of the Cape Fold range, and this stretches from Clanwilliam to PE But you know, Sonya you have seen them before - you drove through Seweweeks poort which is also part of this range of mountains and is made of about 17 km of contorted rock sheets Sometimes we have rivers to thank for exposing the folding beauty and sometimes its the Roadmakers who do itJust imagine the force which caused so much movement and transformation of the rocks shapes! Both Pienaarspoort and Draaikraans are new to me, but I will include them in my next trip - thanks for flagging them up Comment from : Penny Nibbs |
