Haarlem would be my nr1 recommendation for anyone visiting the Netherlands Haarlem is fabulous, there is so much to see, with everything within walking distance Most importantly, much quieter than nearby touristy places There is also something very warm and friendly about the place brAnother recommendation that is not on this list is Enkhuizen Enkhuizen's Zuiderzee Musuem is remarkable A town with a very rich history It is also less touristy than some of the places that are on this list Comment from : Battlehawk |

Maastricht was probably my favorite place in the Netherlands That or Hoorne, or was it oud-zuilen part of haarlem? They were built for storage!
