Philippine President Duterte had to close the famous beach resort because of inadequate waste management It was only opened when it was cleaned up I think the number of tourists should be limited at a given time Tourists felt robbed and cheated when the experience of clean beautiful scenery is nowhere to be found but replaced by foul smelling garbage and overpopulated tourists Comment from : Manuel Moraleda |

I visited Thailand back in 2019 (I'm from the US) I was fresh out of Uni I stayed in hostels in Bangkok and Phuket by Patong Beach I have to admit, it was one of the most fun times in my life However, the beaches and downtown Bangkok were filled with trash And certain areas had a putrid scent (probably from all the waste) I wish I was able to experience it earlier when it was cleaner (like how you wished you bought a house at 7 years old lol) Comment from : Chad |

The cause of the garbage problem in Thailand is the lack of government oversight, corruption, planning, trash pick up( on the islands, there’s not adequate govt garbage collection), too many tourists, no accountability, lack of recycling facilities and lack of sewage and water treatment systems After the tsunami, the Thai government promised to rebuild responsibly and in an environmentally sustainable way The opposite happened Comment from : Whitney Rogin |

Absolutely heart breaking, To see the most toxic product to coral and marine life "Sunscreen" slapped on in the speedboat prior to getting to the dive site The raw sewage discharging into what once was once a pristine environment To see the clamouring hordes of tourists shuttled out stampeding all over the coral The boat anchors tearing up the habitat The discarded nets The plastic, The flotsam, The overfishing of these precious species of coral dwelling marine life to satiate the gluttons in their hordes Thousands of years evolution of the most beautiful and delicate ecosystem destroyed in a few decades For what??? "Most People" are just a cancer on this earth Comment from : Cazna |

This kind of TOURISM is not SUSTAINABLE, it is becoming GREED of money that is detrimental to the state of the environment, HOPEFULLY, this unacceptable behavior will NOT happen in the Philippines, BETTER for us to receive a FEW tourists rather receive millions that will DESTROY our fragile ecosystem Thailand became the VICTIM of its own SUCCESS, better for the Philippines to IMPLEMENT a QUALITY tourism rather than MASS tourism I will NEVER go there in Thailand, it is so CROWDED and so SCARY Comment from : Norman Ocampo |

same with Indonesia the Indonesian government is very ambitious to print 10 new tourist destinations, or 10 new Bali's the target is to attract 20 million foreign tourists every year In addition to Lake Toba, Borobudur, or Bromo, the Mandalika area is included in the program of "printing 10 New Balis" within four years Even though the Bali tourism ecosystem was not born instantaneously There is a process and adaptation Nor is it conflict free Because selling tourism is not the same as selling cinema tickets There are humans living there Comment from : Zack Borneo |

Why do people even go there ? All got to the same places, pollute the enviroment, and make the same pictures to broadcast to the world "I have been here" ! The stupidity of human kind is shattering ! This has got nothing to do with getting to know a foreign country Tourism destroys the destinations it finds ! Comment from : Franz Schermberg |
|
It's not tourists fault Stop blaming tourism It's lack of recycling centres and humongous production of plastic by Thailand which should be stopped or massively reduced You don't want coral destroyed stop snorkeling, you don't want to see plastic bottles start selling glass bottles, stop giving out plastic straws, etc What about the fishermen and their nets?! Comment from : A M |
|
It's very beautiful with amazing scenery and easy to see how the seas attract divers However the country needs to accept there is a problem and the attitude as shown at 34:15 certainly won't help The tourist income must bring in vast amounts every year so they should spend some on getting the infrastructure sorted out instead of employing tourist "police" to check everyone is only taking pretty photographs The Tsunami Evacuation route and the safety shelter being used to store furniture is an absolute disgrace To add insult further, the disabled elevator has no power and is in a very bad state of repair just rusting away It's almost as though the authorities are sitting around waiting for the next Tsunami I feel sorry for the people who live there who obviously know about these issues, but their voices are ignored Comment from : Bulletguy07 |

Most tourists have good behaviour when dealing with litter Its the authorities that allow the attractions to high uncoordinated volumes, which proove to be harmfull And once they stop, the locals depending on them loose their livelihoods The system in place is obviously not working Do not blame tourists who came to support their economy Its the goverments fault The tsunami escape route says it all… Comment from : Ninas |

That's is crazy with international aid (money) the escape route led to a dead end How can one make sense of that?!?! And, you would think after so many people have lost their lives in that tsunami, that the government would make sure they safety routes and plans in place to avoid for many lives lost again Comment from : Gen So |
|
Expecting tourists to behave when you advertise your nation as "party destination" is stupid Also It is duty of the government to save the natural habitat of Thailand Some places should be off limit to tourist or maybe allowed with some supervision Comment from : Rajnish Mishra |
|
