I live in Metairie in the late 70's and Mardi Gras there was great also But hell these people would have a parade and a party just because it was lunch time Mardi Gras was great but The St Patricks' celebration was over the top also

Wife and I wont do New Orleans during Mardi Gras, but its awesome during Halloween! We have been to French Quarter twice, and I dont know if this will make any sense or not, but I LOVE French Quarter, but HATE New Orleans🤷 If you venture outside of French Quarter, New Orleans is just another scummy, trashy southern city🤢

Walk around French Quarter about 9AM before anyone is out You can see the place is a dump Duct taped windows, beat up buildings, trashed store fronts and a stench Gas Lamp in San Diego is the same way Las Vegas is an ugly dump during the day
