Not trashing the ball or bowling skills, but I recently got a Soniq and seeing Marshall cut through the center was exactly what I was doing, there was no high, it was either flush or a split, ball snapped like a monster lol (love the ball btw, just what I noticed)

My observation is Marshall Kent and Darren Tang have one thing in common: they don't have a soft hand at release and tend to apply extra rotation to the ball therefore have a tendency to grab or tug affecting the accuracy and rotationWatch how Tackett let the ball go and how soft a release Prather has

Lefty bowlers have it made in my opinion! I've never noticed anyone do a commentary during a match in a tournament regarding the lane conditions aside from this show In my day they used to describe high scoring lane conditions as the lanes being "walled" In tournament play, its a natural thing for the bowlers to move left and/or switch out their bowling balls from soft to harder so the ball doesn't curve too much At the end of the day, its sucks being right handed, having to stand way left, and lofting the ball at the 2-9 board hoping to find the pocket Most bowlers are used to starting no further left or right than the middle middle arrow The best bowlers are the ones who can adjust for lane conditions as the day goes forward Personally, especially for the final match plays where there are say 8 players left to duke it out, they should either re-oil the lanes to even things out or save a couple of lanes from the morning where nobody has bowled for the final match play As a semi-pro, I really resented them moving us to a pair of lanes we didn't have a read on yet and in a way, match play on new lanes isn't very fair to the players anyway If pro-bowling wants to even things out for skill instead of luck, they should allow everyone to bowl half a game on the lanes they are to compete on first My idea of re-oiling the lanes first might be an option but it should be a very specific kind of re-oiling that everyone is used to That way, its all about skill, not being lucky your bowling style and ball grip fits into the "WALL" created throughout the day during tournament play My issue is starting a tournament with so much oil you can barely get a hook going and at the end of the day, the oil is mostly gone and you can barely hit the 10 pin with a hard rubber ball with a super wide grip The PBA needs to really think about this seriously as 10s of thousands if not 100s of thousands of dollars are on the line and great bowlers often choke due to crappy lane conditions and not because they are nervous
