Didn't they used to have a large bowl or something someone would light with their big light? That person would light the bowl and it would go up in flames Very dramatic and very exciting! I mean no disrespect, but the way they did this was not NEAR as dramatic or exciting as I've seen it done before

This cauldron was neat, but it was not visible from outside the stadium, which is unfortunate It's nice when the Olympic cauldron sits high in the air for all around to see as they arrive They also extinguished this one many times during the games to move it around Traditionally, It's supposed to stay lit the entire time

That was an absolutely brilliant opening ceremony!! The young runners holding the flame torch and slowly jogging that lap was excellent; especially when they ran past the front of the ‘green hill stage’ of the singers & musician That scene with the runners, the two singers & musician and the many thousands of lights from flashing cameras of spectators was simply breathtaking!! Finally the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron was a truly magnificent and magical moment
