Malaysia is not bad at Tourism We received 26 million tourist Minus Singaporean, still 15 million tourists pre covid 15 million tourist is a ridiculously large number for a country who shares a border with only one country There are hundreds of countries who struggled to attract even 10 million visitors Malaysia did really well already Cab we do better, yes But we certainly arent doing that bad either Popular tourist destinations like Australia, Brazil didnt even reach half the amount og tourist we receive Go figure

comparison with Singapore and to seek foreign countries validity is just a mere excuses and not a sound reason why malaysia "suck" at tourismbrbrregardless of the country's financial state, nor which government r we right now, it is the duty of the tourism ministry to promote as well as the tourist site as wellbrbrunfortunately u did not mention:br1 tourism's states and main did not work together on it, mainly all burden falls on the state to promotebr2 high attractions like sunway, tambun, genting are privatised and they only promote locally rather internationallybr3 most of international events or shows are privatised, like international artists, stand up comedian, orchestra and the tickets prices are not local friendlybr4 east coast less tourist promotion as the resorts and mainly individualized rather than working to bring up the tourist spots example pulau perhentian resorts have numerous of resorts which almost half not promoting themselves hence tourists lost interestbr5 hidden tourist spots are being build and maintained by private companies or groups, pulau banding kuala kangsar are not commercialize that much by the state or federal n u only notice one board mention about tasik banding upon arrival in kliabrbrfacts that remains, private does not commercialize it enough, states mention hot spots that they are managing themselves, federal well am not sure what funding they need as the burden mostly falls on the state and the companies maintained the tourist spotsbrbram guessing they r more focusing on f1, motoGp, or things they themselves handle??

1) Messy and outdated airport/ airline compared to Bangkok and Singapore br2) Lousy urban planning and public transport system compared to Singapore br3) Government not good in preserving our own heritage and constantly demolishing heritage buildings which built during British colonisation erabr4) Our diverse food culture is not promoted, in the end chicken rice, laksa, prawn noodle, chilli crabs all became Singapore national cuisine br5) Untasteful architecture and streetscapebr6) Limitations on concerts, singers and all sorts of entertainment activities make our country looks boring br7) Lousy PR activities

actually, we are toooo less focus on kampung(village) side as a part of tourism When we visit other country such Japan, Europe countries we would have found that their village area also taking part as a worth place to visit They truly preserve their village culture I hate it when we talk about rural or village area development, we just thought about to demolish the preserved culture there and replace it with modern buildings but basically just kotak-kotak je design sekarang Where does our aesthetically cultural value in modern building?

You simply need a little more tourist friendliness Been to Malaysia 6 times and going again next year to Sabah, (KK and Labuan and on to KL) Everything is fine but Malaysians seem unhappy and unhelpful Mind you I said 'seem' I have great hope for your country after you got rid of your last PM Nothing makes you unhappy like a drain on your economy brbrAnyway it starts on Malaysia Airlines with offhand treatment from cabin crew, continues with indifferent hotel staff, is accentuated by terrible taxi drivers and is finished off with reasonably priced eateries that are unwelcoming Sounds bad but it just takes a smile and a hello and everything is fine Your country is beautiful, food wonderful and all you need is a little friendliness

They keep promoting Msia as a tropical jungle since the 80s lah They should focus on different parts of the country for specific activities like Australia doesbrbrKL for shopping and lifestyle Tioman or sipadan for diving Kota Kinabalu for trekking And make domestic flights really cheap so tourists can travel from one city or state easily JV with GRAB services to take tourists around including for long distances since our public transport is such a painbrbrAlso what happened to our highly regarded Health tourism?
