This has happened to me I had an aisle seat and two college aged married people came down the aisle and asked if me or the opposite aisle seat holder would switch with them so they could sit together This was a 15 hour flight from Utah to LAX They both had middle seats I immediately told her I would not trade my aisle seat for her middle seat and she could have paid something like $25 extra if she wanted seats together She stared at me blankly, as if I'd stunned her by saying no At which point, the opposite aisle person decided to give up her seat for one of their middle seats 🤷🏼♀️ Why do people think it's ok to ask for that? I once flew with my young kid, paid extra for an aisle and middle seat next to each other When i got on the plane, there was a dad in my middle seat and his wife sitting in the window seat with an infant on her lap When I told him he was in my seat he asked if i would switch with him so he could be with his family His seat was several rows back When i pointed to my kid and said I'd also like to sit with my family and paid to do so he got frustrated with me He wouldn't get up and acted as though i was the unreasonable one!
