I wonder what you will have to say about Yates' early TT starting time (I liked it, for "game theoretical reasons") edit: Ok, you didn't adress this Let me explain what I ment:brUsually, and if it's not the first stage of a race, the riders start a TT in reverse order of their GC position Today, this was only the case for the first 10 riders in GC, probably because the organizers wanted to have Ganna's start at a later time So the rest of the riders could basically choose their starting time If AYates and his team have correctly assessed that he can't beatPogacar and Almeida in a TT when riding under same conditions, he might as well try to have better weather conditions than them by choosing an early starting time Obviously, there is the risk of having worse conditions, but the possible gains outweigh the possible losses because he is worse than them in TTs - gaining 20s/limiting his losses to10s is great, loosing ADDITIONAL 20s to 30seconds he is expected to loose anyway isn't worsening the situation by much Comment from : Chris Ko |
