Just stumbled onto this, a year after I rented an air bnb farmhouse in Middle Musquodoboit for a month So I will top your comment that I think Martinique Beach is the best in the province I found a gourmet food store in Musquodoboit Harbour, the fish truck stops every Thursday with fresh catch, and even pop up clothing retail trailers in the high season The shore drive east to Sheet Harbour and onward if you are heading to Cape Breton is a must Taylor’s Head beach was recommended to me by my host as his favourite Even better than Martinique! Worked at the big Swiss Chalet in Halifax, across the street from the cemetery where Titanic drowning victims are buriedlived down town at the time and use to get the bus to work every morning to that Swiss Chalet bused tables once "picking up the dirty dishes" smashed a whole bunch of dishes and glasses! sSmash, Crash,bang,Smash!!It was a busy evening but all of a sudden it got deadly quiet it was the first and last time busing tables! went back to be one of the two dish washers that are on shiftplace is soooo busy two dish washers are required with their own dish washing machines going non stop!! Remember the short Blonde guy that ran the place at the time called me "Gumby" so I called him Papa Smurf! Cost of living in Halifax seems outrageous now Real estate is not our of reach like in Toronto, but considering the price of houses outside of city are same as Calgary, AB which is 14mil population city with different wages and opportunities its just too much I checked Halifax real estate, houses that sold in 2017 for 220,000 is now selling for 370,000 That is not a normal appreciation and it can cripple some if prices fell down and you have this expensive mortgage on cheap property Its way overvalued Comment from : Oscar Hanzely

Not a fan of seeing the same people constantly, but it happens I lived in a city of 15 million (now 25 million) in Oz and it was incredible how often I would run into people I knew during my lunch break 400-500k is an ideal size for a city but sadly they are usually victims of their own success and that was definitely the case with Brisbane - anyone who grew up there in the 70s/80s would barely recognise the CBD now 180-degrees away from Halifax in almost every way but a graphic illustration of how quickly population growth stresses infrastructure Thanks for the video Comment from : Arthur Watts

To be honest I'm a Newfie with an Ontario number that I have to keep for 2 more years My wife and I came to Nova Scotia with the intention to move here We treat everyone with respect Northern Nova Scotia has been good but Halifax if your are not local,people are cold!!! We went into the tourist information on the water front and they were extremely unwelcoming and did not give us the time of day!!!! Even real-estate agents are not even returning our calls!!!! Nova Scotia is very beautiful! I grew up here and maybe the cost of housing people think is way better but it’s not!! Only because the wages that people make here is not affordable!!!
