Violent Assault isn’t even reported by the police in an effort to hide it’s prevalence…Edmonton has been turned into a 3rd world Ghetto in reality…it used to be a nice city 30 plus years ago I don’t even like going back for a few days to visit family anymore as it’s far too dangerous a city now Comment from : Warren Wade |
As a born Edmontonian, you couldn’t have displayed this city any better You covered it extremely well I live in Calgary now but I always miss Edmonton Comment from : Sorensenator86 |

Great video, lots of cool info here about my city! Small correction, however: Edmonton took on the moniker "City of Champions" because of the amount of volunteers that came out to help people recover after the Black Friday tornado in '87 The Sports stuff helped contribute to it though, as they were winning both the Stanley Cup and Grey Cup (CFL Championship) pretty regularly Comment from : DarkenSeyreth |
I have been to Edmonton 6 times, soon to be 7 in September this year, as I have a friend there and it hosts a big Sci fi convention every September It is a nice cityI have lived in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Kelowna, but only visited Calgary,Edmonton and Vancouver, Vancouver the most as my brother lives thereAll these cities have many interesting sights to visit Comment from : Alex 35 |

Great Job City Geekyou nailed it!!!!I'm born and Raised in Edmonton for 55yrsmy son loves the River Valley Bick trails Comment from : Gerald Podloski |
You missed out on it's other name, the dirtiest city The city is absolutely filthy and disgusting and the worst city for dirt because they cheap out and buy sand for creating traction on the streets during winter, that turns to dirt on the roads after winter and they don't hire enough street cleaners Another added bonus is they have so many nails on the road because of the lack of street cleaners that you can also call it the city of flat tires, the sides of the major streets are covered in rubber from blown out tires So the city is just covered in this disgusting dirt Ugliest city ever Comment from : Jayson Cowan |
Just a correction, the city of championship isn't to do with sports, although is a very common mistake It's to do with the people and how they heroically helped each other in times of crisis particularly referring to a tornado in the 80s It just coinsided with the Elks and Oilers winning streaks, which is why there is the confusion Comment from : Tom E |
Another great "Meet" video! Comment from : Calum Ashley McDonough |
The thumbnail should have been a picture of the stacked silver balls Comment from : Ian Lee |
Edmonton is also home to the 3rd Canadian Division HQ, know as CFB Edmonton This in one of the largest Canadian Army bases in Canada Edmonton also served as a backup landing site for the NASA space shuttle Edmonton also has a Broad Pedway system of tunnels and bridges that connect much of the downtown core so pedestrians dont have to go outside in the winter Edmonton is an amalgamation of the cities of Edmonton, city of Strathcona and the town of Beverly, all seperate at one point We also have River boats, Ski Hills, and near by beaches Just to name a few other interesting points Video could have been many times longer, You only scratched the surface Comment from : Lord Moriancumer |
If you look close you can see a couple crackheads hiding in the woodworks Comment from : M |
As an Edmontonian, it's a shame to hear good things being said about the Royal Alberta Museum Yes i know that seems like a odd statement For all it's square footage, the RAM is more empty useless square foot than exhibit area The old RAM, which the new building replaced, felt full and exciting with new things to see just around a corner One of the reasons that the new building was commissioned was that the museum archived were so full, they couldn't display more than a third of the items at any one time So having a shiny new building wit huge wide and very empty halls, soaring ceiling filled with nothing and galleries displaying the exact same thing that were in the old building, is kind of a kick in the teeth IMHO Comment from : Lee |
Felt negative on purpose Comment from : nope |
Another nickname is stabmonton because theres junkies everywhere and theyll stab you They hang out in the heart of downtown which makes downtown a terrible place to go Comment from : TheRealReid |
I lived in Edmonton for over 25 years before moving to Calgary for work Edmonton had only had 30-ish story buildings because of it's proximity to the municipal airport Buildings couldn't be taller than an airplane's glide slope Now that the airport is closed, super tall skyscrapers are now possible It's taken the city a while to finally build something tall Unlike Calgary which has a height limit that results in buildings reaching the maximum height I expect Edmonton will be getting taller buildings in the future, where as Calgary is unlikely to change it's height rules Comment from : Elenesski |
Big thunderstorm on the way Comment from : Paul Stubbings |
Do Thunder Bay next! 😂😂 Comment from : Noah |
Is there a way to get on top of the CN tower or the Stantec building to get a view? Comment from : Arnold Peter |
This is my home city Born and raised here It’s cool to see someone who isn’t Canadian cover my city, and you using km’s instead of miles It’s more blue collar than Calgary, which is white collar Alberta is considered Texas of the North Comment from : Triggered Cat |

I live just west of Edmonton And it is a disgusting murderous mess! A liberal cess pool that I and almost all I know avoid like a plague Comment from : Chris Newby |

I thought Anchorage was the farthest north large city in North America, at 61° north It has a population of almost 300,000 people It may not be too large, but it has a 6 digit population, the only one in Alaska and perhaps no other city at that latitude, not even in Canada, has a 6 digit population Comment from : Francis Ace |
I live here some parts are good the rest are filled with druggies and drunk idiots looking to start a fight Comment from : Scipr X |

I’ve lived in Edmonton my whole life, & the thing I like about it is that it’s a big city with a small town feel It’s easy to talk to people & if you need directions or anything, someone will help you Plus, it’s quite safe for a large city Comment from : Aunty Venom13 |

As someone from that city (now living in Victoria BC), really liked the video, but you missed an important element It was the first city to have a modern LRT system in North America under a million (under 500,000 at that time) which opened in April 1978 prior to the Commonwealth Games Comment from : Aaron Lypkie |
Wow great video on Edmonton I wanna visit one day, Canadian cities always amazes me Clean & beautiful Comment from : mattrancho |
All you need to know is that Edmonton is a WOKE city with a wasteful city government that supports or at least condones drug use and homelessness Comment from : Ian Howes |
Emigrated to Canada, while others were rushing to Toronto, I choose Edmonton Haven't regretted it one bit It' feels like home now I will rep it forever Comment from : Safi Faruqi |
I had the amazing experience of living in Edmonton for 6 years From 1990 to 1996 I was there for yet another win of the Stanley Cup and was blessed enough to touch it as they brought it through the crowd at the airport I also worked at West Edmonton Mall Amazing place highly recommend it for you bucket list The waterpark there was a blast so many good memories And I also was able to see the Northern Lights many times So many amazing festivals Especially enjoyed the Fringe and the Sour Dough Raft Race during Klondike Days One big water fight on the North Saskatchewan River The only bad memory I have of Edmonton is the -40 degree weather you can get in the mid winter But other than that great memories and highly recommend this city It is also one of the cleanest cities and friendliest cities in Canada :) Comment from : TotalTruth ca |
Edmonton is a very big city geographically Kind of a microcosm of Canada in that way Haha It is 4 times the size of Toronto geographically And Toronto is 4 times the size of Edmonton in population Comment from : Ty |
A nice shot of downtown Edmonton is looking east from west on northside of downtown juat north of 104 ave Comment from : Ty |
The River Valley is so deep that you don't even see the tip of the 70 storey Stantec Tower in lots of areas in the River Valley right on the edge of downtown Feels like you're in the wilderness not near any urban area when you're right next to downtown in some parts Comment from : Ty |
I am an Edmontonian born and raised Proud to be Edmontonian Love this city It is beautiful Central Park NY is a distant second to Edmonton's River Valley for largest urban green area Comment from : Ty |

I lived in Edmonton for the first 17 years of my life and have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it I have many fond memories growing up there and it's such an active vibrant cityduring the summer The winters are, wellabsolutely brutal I could tell stories that would chill you to the bone, no pun intended It's the reason I would never consider moving back therebrbrThe other thing that's kind of a bummer about Edmonton is that it's very remote so it's kind of a pain to live there if you like to travel a lotbrbrIt's a fun town though, lots to see and do, just avoid it between October and April lol Comment from : Miranda Ketita |
And another and probably the most fitting nickname is Deadmonton :D Comment from : Ep!dEm |
FREEEEZING ! cold there in the winter Cowgary has chinooks! Comment from : grandcrowdad Forde |
Moved from Toronto to Edmonton last year Edmonton definitely has a cold and long winter temperature-wise, but it is sunny all year round Snow-storm is surprisingly rare, fogs none, rain rare, even cloudy days are rare This is what I love most about this city Comment from : Shu Ye |
Nothing to do here, guys Keep moving Comment from : Gladia Tiger |
Make a video about Winnipeg! Comment from : Dmytro Gula |
What they're not telling you is that junkies have taken over this city The lawlessness right now is insane You can't leave your house without coming across a strung out or cracked out street creature Open drug use on the busses and trains is always a fun experience! If you don't give them handouts beware! Might just get your head kicked in 😊 My favorite part of Edmonton right now is the junkies squatting in my senior neighbors garage and yard who have destroyed it and constantly threaten to kill him and his neighbors while the police do nothing but laugh and joke around with them despite the numerous complaints Drugs going in and out day in and day out for the past 8 months Tax payers are secondary citizens 👍 Thank God for this leftist government! City counsel, reps, and officials ignore concerns and could care less about community feedback despite the fact that it's their job The superficial nonsense in this video does nothing to help this city I doubt the creator even lives here 🤦♂️Just like the constant spending on bike lanes that virtually nobody except the junkies use when we have snow 8 months out of a year 🤦♂️ Edmonton is a frosted turd Dont come here Comment from : glutenfreee gaming |
A quick correction, Edmonton is the 5th largest metro area not 6th, and Quebec City is around 7th or 8th as Ottawa behind Edmonton Comment from : Timothy Chung |
I’m from Montreal, lived in Calgary before, but didn’t get the chance to check out Edmonton although I’ve heard good things about itbrbrAnd this video just made me book a flight for a 3 days getaway Didn’t know where to go, thanks 😅 Comment from : Elias Bac |

I would like Edmonton a lot more if it wasn't so damn cold in the winters and so damn hot in the summers You only get a couple of months do decent weather imo Comment from : Adam Tak |
All I remember about Edmonton is the -40°C winter The summer lasts 2 months from June 1 to July 31 The short summer months are quite comfortable because of the low humidity, but one should not venture outside after dark because of the mosquitoes They can eat you alive After moving to Vancouver from Edmonton, I would never look back to the time that I spent in Edmonton Comment from : Richard Brett |
Moving to downtown Edmonton in a few months, super excited! Comment from : Aaron |
Can you please do either Baltimore or Washington DC? Comment from : Rob |
Born there, raised just outside in St Albert One problem Edmonton has is the prefab, McDonalds style neighborhoods that are springing up left right and center Everything is the same In the rich areas, McMansions everywhereUgh The old neighborhoods are far more attractive As well some of that dreaded, non architectural, outdoor shopping complex, architecture, but to be fair I'd imagine most cities are turning that junk out *sigh Still, it is quite a clean, fairly safe city and there certainly have been a lot of improvements as well Nice video Comment from : Dan Baumann |
Absolutely gay Comment from : Alexander |
