Health care in Finland is not free You always hear this, but somebody who isn't in the national healthcare insurance program pays similar prices as somebody in the US without an insurance You pay 3 (2021) of your income as mandatory healthcare insurance (including payments hidden from the worker under employee payments) (and yes, paying 1000€ per month or 100€ per month doesn't give you any better care)
