Why are all these fedora tippers descending on this video lmao brThis is a part of the UK a level specification, the "1948 to 1994" is misleading because this is mainly 40s to 60s but the violence was mainly in the 70s and 80s after the creation of mk and poqo In this period resistance was mostly peaceful (ie the defiance campaign) because they were trying to replicate the civil rights movement which was going on at the same time The anc only switched to violence after decades of peaceful protest had only been met by harsher restrictions (terrorism act) and violence (sharpeville massacre) Comment from : nell from hell |

She can not even say Apartheid correctly Understanding why the whites controlled and build created moved the country forward after the British mess is left out I love how people who are not even from South Africa see and know it all but look past the unpopular war or the communist attacks on the country or the ANC brutal and horrific methods to force blacks to join their communist party May be she should spend a few weeks in Hillbrow or SOWETO Zola 1 or 5 district and get a better idea for what she is talking about first hand Comment from : Matt Lombard |

Gotta say this is a really low resolution view of apartheid, its intentions and its reasoning It was racist mostly in its implementation (if you have seen a map of the "bantustans" you get the idea) There were, and are legitimate reasons to view south africa as a country that should be partitioned, apartheid in theory was ment to facilitate this, of course racism got involved and well that lead to shit I dont think apartheid should of existed but treating it so one dimensionally means that people won't understand why it was wrong, nor will they realise the issues that the country faces today and why they exist Comment from : David Hobbs |

Hahahahaha peaceful protest that's the biggest mouthful I have ever heard Have people forgotten that Winnie Mandela was the one that invented de-lipping and necklacing to those of their own people who did not agree with the ANC And has everyone forgotten that the ANC was known as the African national communists before it was changed to Congress Seriously Lucas Mangope, the president of the late Bophuthatswana (Now known as North west) Was president in the so called communistic apartheid government (By the way supported by NATO in the north African proxy wars) He was ten times the man Mandela could ever be People make a mockery of peoples pain by not telling the truth Our history is beautiful and all I see is people taking a dump on it Comment from : DeadLabRat Gaming |

Actually, First Rate Tutors, you are omitting to mention that the cultural norms of the Africans who eventually settled in South Africa, were Tribal The people answered to the headman They lived in Kraals, in thatched “pole and daga” huts They wore animal skin clothes, were all ways barefoot and ate with their hands The headman owned everything but allowed villagers the use of anything The headman was all powerful and had the power of life or death over his clan That culture of appropriation of what ever they saw that European had was incompatible with European culture Hence apartheid separated the cultures Comment from : WildIRoam |
