Hey folks, we're here with my first deep-dive! Was really excited to create this case, a lot of time and effort put into this one so let me know what you thought of the format of today's video Also while you're there, what do you think of Koh Tao? Would you be worried to visit the island? Have you been there before?

It's always smart, to look into the places you want to visit or vacation I got married in Puerto Rico, and took a 7 day cruise around the Caribbean When we got t0 the Dominican Republic, I had a bad feeling about the Island, so we stayed on the boat Good thing for us, as the tour bus was robbed at gun point Be smart and be careful We were lucky I has a bad feeling there! It was a beautiful country, from what we saw in port That happened in the late 90's Now I study up before I go somewhere All it takes, is accidentally turning into the wrong neighborhood

I did my Open Waters dive course in Ko Tao Some years later i was in another island of the same archipelago in a resort where you could buy drugs on the reception!! It seems like the owner was the police chief of the region, so this was kind of “safe”! Absolutely ridiculous and unbelievable!

When I was in the Navy, we where specifically forbidden from visiting the Island When a ship pulls into a port visit usually local American Officials from the Embassy come on board a brief the Command on the locations which are off limits Usually it’s the locals strip clubs and bars owned by the local Mafia It’s the first time we where told a whole island was off limits due to it being owned by a criminal organization

Be extremely careful ANYTIME you travel to dirt-poor countries Especially if you travel via cruise shipsbr Never go off the "beaten path," ie, the somewhat protected, designated tourist areas -- the resort hotels, pubs, restaurants and the shopping areas just for the touristsbr That extra little bit of cash you may save by shopping in places that aren't safe, or having a few drinks "where the locals go," could cost you dearlybrbr My Advice for Partying: Have at least one person designated to STAYING SOBER and in charge of the money/credit card!! I think the crime lord's son is a serial rapist/murderer He seems to prefer blondes, but will settle for brunette if the oportunity is right I also think he murders men who he deems to have offended him, unwittingly or intentionally, and he hangs them to make it look like suicide As the son of the crime boss on the island, he has henchmen who help him in his crimes As for the hubby and wife who drowned together in a pool (that from photos seems to lack a deep end), I think they were murdered at the behest of the crime family father aka the kingpin, to ensure that the visiting hotel magnate and his wife never had the chance to open a resort on Koh Tao, because no crime fam wants competition, especially when it's backed by a billionaire All in all, the island is rife with corruption and those who rub this family the wrong way, or catch the eye/ire of the serial rapist son, are not going to have a pleasant stay for long on that isle Honestly corruption and greed are two of humanity's biggest flaws This world would be so much better if those two traits didn't exist

My brother and l were offerd a dugout canoe to go fishing and when we were about a mile out it filled up with water and we had to abandonbrAfter getting ashore the resort owners were demanding an extortionate fee for their vesselbrWe were basically held to ransom that same day my brother and i recovered their canoe that was submerged and floatingbrWe said to the bosses heres yourboat and we leftbrIt was very dodgy and we got out of that part of the island

I will will add my story I travelled south east asia, and northern asia for around 5 years Hopping from country to country I loved Thailand for a few reasons, met some pretty awesome people there BUT in comparison to all the other countries I went to with only 1 or 2 others coming kinda close to it (but still not at the same level) I found Thailand quite intimidating As a foreigner, there are a lot of people who only see a $ sign when they look at you Going to "police" for help in the even of something happening is simply not a real option Hear a LOT of horror stories about tourists and expats staying there I was quite lucky more than a few times If anyone goes to that country, I suggest to keep your head down, don't draw attention NO MATTER WHAT, and if you ever run into trouble with locals ANYWHERE in the country, GET OUT QUICK Some of them have networks that span the country, and hopping over to another island or province may not be enough Oh, one other thing if a cop pulls you up and demands a bribe pay it Do not argue Remember, to certain groups in power you are a dollar sign and if you don't cough up the dollars, you may as well disappear

We had a friend of 24 who died in Thailand He apparently committed suicide by sitting himself down on the beach to watch the ocean, beat himself to a pulp, and strangled himself with a rope round his neck that he must have pulled really hard on! It's amazing how creative suicide victims can get in Thailand! 😶

im not thai, but i am south east asian, and the thing with us is that the system, be it the justice system, or the management of the place youre working etc etc, will fabricate stuff, sweep stuff under the rug and ignore em as they see fit how are they able to constantly get away with this? bc most of SEA people will choose silence over trying to get answers or justice, or even worse, side with the system the laws also dont have the victim's best interest in mind these tourists, victims' families are fighting a very steep uphill battlebrbranother thing, tourists, especially with caucasian features stands out in SEA, for better or for worse, some people see them as easy target for scams, and well, they are and a lot of times theyre the ones doing crazy shit that angered locals, im not saying thats what the victims here did, but, everytime a crazy tourist does something, it makes ppl more wary of the next incoming tourists, maybe some see them as a threat, who knows

Why Thailand? If I want to see "plants and animals" (as you phrase it) I need only look out my front door If I want to see gorgeous sunrises, I need only look out my front door If I want sunny beaches, I need only ride a bus 5 miles south I can do all these things without leaving California, or spending thousands of dollars, or subjecting myself to the whims of mafiosi or dirty cops My recommendation to my fellow Americans is that they stay away from Thailand for two reasons: it's a dangerous place, and there's no sense in supporting corruption by feeding it money
