I am so sorry to hear that people still go hungry in Singapore It is in my wildest dreams that i will see someone in Singapore going hungry and relying only on just instant noodles everyday But the root of the issue for these people are them working in the lowest form of work, earning meagre pay and unable to break free of their financial problems just for food In this show, the main problem for these people are with health issues and that simply is not within anyone’s control brbrI understand from government’s point of view, assistance are meant to be short or medium term assistance and does not wish people to be reliant on it But if these people are battling with long term illness, there is no way these people are able to survive on short or medium term assistance As a rich society, the government should do better on social care efforts because it’s becoming to the situation that only the rich is able to reap the true societal benefits of Singapore Comment from : Raymond Chong |

A few thoughts, which may be unpopular depending on your views One, I do believe that people should really understand the cost of raising a child and specifically, to expect when (and not if) things go VERY BAD I get things happen, but you should ask yourself what will happen to your children when you lose your job? I am so shocked that , in one of the RICHEST countries in the world - there are so many Singaporeans falling through the ( huge) gaps in the social welfare system The first issue that shocks me is… how HIGH are the interest rates that these “ licensed “ moneylenders are permitted to charge ?! And ( I know there are multiple , large charities in Singapore ) , so WHERE are the charities / food banks/ pantries to (especially ) help the very vulnerable women and children ?!!
