As a Floridian who lives in smaller places here is what I have to say When people think of Florida, they think of Florida man, Miami, Tampa, and Orlando But when you go to the smaller places, you still find a beauty there Also, Orlando HAS TONS of gators Always keep an eye out when you're close to water

I just spent the day at Discovery Cove with my boys Their customer service was on point There’s so much to do here, you won’t be bored at all! You can swim and interact with dolphins, and do the animal trek I did that, plus upgraded bar pass Well worth every penny!!! Everyone here was just exceptionally friendly and accommodating!!!

UPDATE -- Don't forget to make PARK RESERVATIONS at Disney ------ a Park Ticket will NOT get you in without a Reservation for that particular Disney PARK gate [ie EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios] brbrA park-HOPPER ticket + Reservation to a different Disney Park on that day may be your only work-around to get into the Park that you wanted, but only AFTER the park HOPPER time of day has been reached [ie 2pm]

I'm from Orlando Florida one thing I see when people visit Florida be nice to the locals don't be the one I can do whatever I want here because I'm not from here I seen that alot , and make sure your car is full of gas at all time because the highway can be back up from miles And don't ask them oh you're from Florida you probably go to Disney everyday I had so many people ask me that and I'll look at them do I look rich Tell you the truth I think I've been there three times in my life Don't wear ponchos at the theme park because they will make you sweat And don't tell everyone that you're out of town because it will take advantage of you And no Florida is not a tropical looking place

From personal experience - No ride, I don't care how much you paid for that ticket or how far you've traveled, is worth waiting in line for hours in the hot Florida sun and fainting from heat stroke It didn't happen to me It happened to my stubborn wife while I went to get some drinks She was steadfast about riding that fucking "Back To The Future" rollercoaster at Universal in the year 1999 Needless to say, not only we didn't ride it, I could have cared less and I don't miss it I live in ORL now, but you won't catch me at any of the parks unless I've gotten in for free

Ifvyour looking for don’ts ive been to orlando 4 times and have spent about 2 months worth of time in it… i wouldn’t recommend Disney (very outdated, rides break down every 2 secs, and all the cues are outside so the sun bakes you for hours on end

Lived there 12 years Don't forget wonderful Kennedy Space Center one hour away; AND, you can hit Cocoa Beachgreat day trip! (Just be aware of lightning alley Orlando Got caught in dangerous storm at Seaworld - we ended up in parking lot during intense storm, pitch black, unable to find our car NICE)

As a local, I urge you to check out Old Florida charm Kelly Park in Apopka (only 30 minutes north of Universal) is tied into the Wekiva Springs and has a place you can tube Tubes are for rent outside the park $15 each and admission is only $6 per carload Pack a picnic lunch and you have a low cost, fun family day If you are here in early February, don't miss Blue Springs state park where you can see the manatees

Another tip is when visiting the parks (universal, Disney, sea world, etc) get there for opening!! We completed all the rides by 11-12 and instead of spending money on the ridiculously overpriced food in the parks, we went outside the parks Don’t stress if you don’t get everything done in one day, if your on a 14 day break you will find yourself having spare days where you can re-visit some of the parks to get on the rides you missed

Another tip when visiting the outlet stores (both ends of international drive) if you visit the information desks within the outlet stores, they will have voucher booklets that you can buy for around $5 which give you MEGA savings off shops! We saved around $50 in Michael Kors on one shop so highly recommend

Great tips that helped me when visiting Orlando Another tip for people wanting to use public transport instead of rental cars itrolley is a bus that goes up and down international drive From my knowledgeable it’s around $125 one way which can get expensive over a 14 day break Speak to your hotel or the bus drivers about the 2/7/14/21 day passes that get you unlimited travel on the system for anywhere between $5-30 for the pass! Even after 2 days of travel we would have spent the same buying singles as oppose to the pass!

Best beach in Florida is not Clearwater Beach in my opinion to crowded and touristy, Playalinda Beach is best it is over in Cape Canaveral, You can see the Kennedy Space center launch Pad from here Playalinda is closed 3 days prior to a launch due to how close it is for security reasons Also you will only see about 50 people in 5 miles of beach However there is no store so bring your drinks From the beach you can go to Haulover canal right down the road 20 minutes to see the Manatees (Manatees are always there) These are the places us locals go Here is the link belowbrbrbr By the way going to Rome end of April (thanks for all the videos it really helped me plan and save money)brbrbr wwwvisitspacecoastcom/titusville/things-to-do/playalinda-beach-canaveral-national-seashore

Don't forget to tip 18-20, at restaurants I know a lot of tourists are coming from non-tipping countries or just don't put a tip in their vcay budget, but servers live off tips Most are friendly but have been stiffed by so many tourists they see those ears and are already expecting to be let down

Please stop sending people to Clearwater Beach It's beyond overcrowded and lots of car accidents Locals don't go there There are at least 12 other highly rated beaches further south that are very nice and way less crowded like Reddington, Indian Rocks, madeira, Treasure Island, St Pete Beach, Ft Desoto, Pass a Grille,etc There's a beach trolley that runs from Clearwater beach all the way down to John's Pass at the southern end of the peninsula Tons of restaurants (local & chains) brbrOther than that you had some good tips Especially about avoiding gators They use storm drains and get into every body of water

Definite on the shoes Too long in those parks in flops and you will get shin splints like a pro athlete Another thing with the flops or sandals, don't forget to put sunscreen on the top of your feet I had a sunburn so bad on my feet once they actually turned purple They didn't hurt, but looked really nasty with wicked tan lines
