There are million dollar homes next to run down 40,000 homes throughout the city Never let your guard down as the hood could be right around your picture perfect area After dark things get worse, never walk down street without lights Stay in a group, but mostly get a room in Slidell, Metairie or Kenner

Yeah well, usually there's taxi's in the Casino area downtown by the Aquarium, and the Greyhound Bus station/Amtrak, and yes Airport! I used to live there, but it's not often ya can't find one! They have the St Charles streetcars, but don't recommend the RTA personally! There's definitely pro's and con's of wether living, or just visiting New Orleans!

Any visitor should be acutely aware of the dangers in this city Even statistics do not tell the whole story because of how corrupt this place is My family and I lived in Gulfport Mississippi 98 miles away and we moved because crime has started to trickle up that way

I just came back I spent 5 days in new Orleans I loved it great culture and food I stayed at the Marriott on canal it was perfect for location went on a few tours I loved it all it was a great birthday treat for myself!!

This place has went WAY WAY WAY downhill My son and I just got back from a trip there and it was VERY disappointing There is homeless tent cities on the sidewalks between the train station and bourbon street Bourbon street is nothing more than a LGBTQ fest and kids beating on five gallon barrels asking for money The food is still great, but no longer worth the trip with all the homeless and BS

NOLA is a strange place, it’s not particularly clean, it’s not very modern and not the safest place to visit, but every time you leave, you can’t wait to come back… it has a grip on you and I can’t figure it out myself!!

I am from New Orleans DON'T stay anywhere downtown The crime is horrendous Yes, the food is GREAT The WW2 Museum is absolutely a must But it is sad that my city is just a SHELL OF WHAT IT ONCE WAS It is really hard to feel safe anywhere in the city

One word: DON’T The city has become an unmitigated war zone It takes NOPD 30 minutes to respond to high-priority 911 calls The carjackings and shootings are a multiple times each day occurrence Mayor Latoya Cantrell has been completely ignoring it and instead finds going to galas, openings and other events as priority over dealing with this crisis I’m writing this just hours after 6 people were shot at the Balcony Bar on Magazine Street This last Mardi Gras was one of the most violent on record and several tourists were murdered, one a 15 year old girl who was simply waiting in line at a food truck Plain and simple, DO NOT COME TO NEW ORLEANS!!!
