We are going on a Euro trip and we will be passing by Prague for half a day starting from 11 am till about 5pm What do you suggest we should do if it is our first time in Czech and we are only staying for a very short period of time I'd like to ask locals because they know the city inside out Where should we go to eat lunch and what is the best thing to do during the day? Comment from : Wael W |

I just looked up the weather yesterday in Prague and it was 55 degrees and it’s august Sounds like Chicago weather Comment from : Mrfukk12 |
I've noticed that if you ignore them being grumpy they eventually stop being grumpy It's like grumpy-introduction-phase, just don't give a damn and they're fine after that Also being a bit grumpy back sometimes works xD Comment from : beziko |
Good video; what I like about Czech people is the dry, ironic sense of humour, and their matter-of-fact approach to life Comment from : gomofly |
Never had any issue in Prague Our local tour guide was very helpful and friendly We stayed at 4S which is situated right by Charles Bridge Also only went to 4S recommended restaurants where the wait staff were helpful and accommodating as the concierge would try to steer us away from going to certain restaurants which I caught on quickly We plan to go back for a longer stay and make sure to have some coins with you for use of public restrooms Comment from : Joy Joy |
Very good video and helpful also❤ Comment from : Hum bhi Musafir |

I visited the Astronomical clock and Charles bridge around 6-7 am in the morning and it was beautifully empty for photos Comment from : No Kidding! |

I read the articles you linked and it seems like a tourists are complaining about the tourists which is hilarious to me Czech people don't like rude people and because Prague is packed with disrespectful tourists, that is what people get back I am Czech and I came to Prague for 10 months after 12 years in Florida, what I have learned here is, if you are polite you will receive it back, the only sad part is many people here aren't polite Czech people are usually nice to each other but the people living here who aren't Czech look down on Czech people and treat them the way and of course that is going to make the Czech people more and more miserable One thing which is very important to me is, if you want to receive smile, smile first, say thank you, start sentence with would you be so kind and learn some Czech Few months ago a Spanish tourist was sitting in a restaurant next to us, giving hard time to Czech waiter for not speaking Spanish, he said I speak, Czech, Russian, German, English sorry I don't speak your language but we will figure out your order, the Spanish tourist looked annoyed and I bet he thought the waiter was rude, based on his face expression I personally don't like to live here because I am too American now but Prague is beautiful city and you should learn few Czech words while visiting it may makes your experience much better Comment from : Ivet Parris |

Loved your honest reviews and findings Such a gem 💎 going to Prague soon and am already excited :D Comment from : ShiShares |

What about LGBT prague, how is it ? Is it safe ? welcoming ? Gay friendly ? Comment from : Nico ? |
very well done, everyone should do a video like this of their own city! Comment from : Jeromy Robert |
As a typically grumpy German, grumpy Czech people are simply dear to my heart! :) Comment from : Dirk Schwartz |
Who are these people who still think Prague is a "hidden" gem? It is a gem indeed (such a dreamy and lovely city), but be prepared to battle hordes of tourists :) That shouldn't stop you from enjoying your visit, though, including getting lost in its intricately complex, charming streets I also visited other cities - the Czech Republic is such a beautiful country Comment from : ilbaofamiglia |

Prague girl are really beautifulim watching from philipines Comment from : Jose Lito |

i know the joke at 6:43 and i believe it is a very very antisemitic one, it goes "thats also why the Jew has a nose bigger than his wallet, so he can sniff you out" Comment from : Molotov Thrower |

In Korea, the Czech Republic was recognized as a country with low prices But currently traveling, I don't feel that way This is not a Czech problem It's the media's fault Why? Should the price of beer be the standard? brBut I hope you don't worry I love this country so much Whether it's expensive or not, I'm willing to take a long flight The satisfaction of Koreans who traveled to the Czech Republic was not affected by poor media information Love🇨🇿 Comment from : 슈퍼트래블러 Super Traveler |

Just go to Kraków :) Comment from : Rafal Kaminski |

wonderful video, valeryyou are such a great representative for Pragueso how many marriage proposals from visiting tourists have you received over the years? btw, how would you describe most tourists? superior? pushy? smug? friendly? nice? cheap? Comment from : bobby lee |
II have travelled the world several times over Sadly, I missed your beautiful city due to the political climate at the time Having seen your amazing video's, I feel I have been there though Prague is a gem of a city given it's history and architecture even in locations outside of Prague thanks to you and your cameraman I am shocked as just how big and diverse Prague is To say Prague is picturesque is a gross misunderstatement!!! GREAT VIDEO!🙏👌 Comment from : Julius Caesar |
The only real annoyance I had in Prague were the bathroom attendant ladies, but I think I'd feel pretty miserable if my entire existence was collecting 5 CZK at a time from tourists looking to do business at your makeshift hole-in-the-wall pee place Comment from : IndigoSolution |
So please share here which mainstream clubs do you dislike? :) Comment from : Anna Kodric |
I have been to cities with better customer service, but people are honest, friendly if you get to know them, crime is low, food is good, sights are beautiful and prices moderate And, yes, Budapest and Berlin are better party cities, but for drinking beer and just relaxing, Praha is just right Comment from : Stein Erik Paulsen |
I was just there December 6-12 We watched your videos and even took one of your free walking tours From an American that currently lives in a big city and being well traveled, I found Prague very affordable Only twice was our meal over 30$, but that was due to having to resort to a tourist restaurant since everything was full due to the weekend and the World Cup (FYI, I suggest that you make reservations for dinner during the weekends, we were turned away a few times) As you said, stay away from the tourist traps and Prague is quite affordable Our trio including hotel flights and breakfast from the USA was only $820 a person, I can’t fly to many destinations in the USA for that Comment from : mottomanic |
I went Prague in April It was busy and expected it Who's daft enough to eat and drink in a main town area and expect it to be reasonably priced?? Comment from : Stephen Hampson |
I’m moving there for school soon could you make a video for students or what I should pack for the weather? And if you have any videos I should watch please let me know! Love your videos Comment from : Sieraleone Stokes |

I’m visiting right now as I type (new years) And have been here in the summer Yep very crowded hereAgree time shifting to wake up very early is helpful Walk the popular streets like 7-9am and you see very few tourists Comment from : J G |
Im in Prague now, I am kind of disappointed the weather wasn't cold enough and being Australian im the opposite of a Czech person in personality however everyone is nice enough Comment from : Mark Eagling |
A gem, but not hidden, for sure I love it in shoulder season and on weekdays to avoid the drinking festivals Happy New Year! I hope 2023 brings so much adventure and growth to your channel and ours Cheers from Turtle and Bear, a father and son team of anthropologists world travelers and your fellow Youtubers Comment from : The Gallivanthropologists |
Czech people are a bit grumpy But after a beer or three they are much nicer brIts a good place to gobrThe video is excellent Like tourist traps everywhere it can be pricey if you dont move out of these areas During the summer its lovely brI didnt know about the plague thing Very interesringbrYou probably should include a mention of the Czech sentence with no vowels Translated it is Put your finger in through your neck Czech is one of the very few European languages where you can have full sentence with no vowels Its difficult for Czechs to say this so dont try it unless your Czech is very good Czech people love it when you ask them about this Might be useful Comment from : David Mitchell |
This is a really well done video! We are excited to see Prague and your videos are helping the build up! We are able to spend more time so we get to wander more Good Health and Enjoy! Comment from : Chris Feret |

Happy New Year for You Valeria! Comment from : LS |
Oh guy’s 😂😂😂😂, unfortunately you will never please everyone But I found Prague very reasonable food and drink wise, even came back with some Crowns😳 We ate well because we kept away from main tourist spots to find restaurants Yes it was a busy in September when we came but as Valerie say’s if your prepared to walk and get off the main tourist routes it’s a lot quieter In the two times I have been to Prague once just after the Velvet Revolution and September this year I found the Czech people very friendly and more than a lot of places in Europe or New York Great video guy’s love the bit about the Plague🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Comment from : Paul Todd |
It's very crowded in late December Comment from : xxx s |
Amazing brBIG LOVE from IRAN Comment from : alirezas_adventures |
We went for the Christmas markets at the beginning of December We had no issues and found the entire experience wonderful We plan on going back in a couple of years (ok, there was the "bitch at the boarder" but we figured she just missed her Soviet Overlords) Comment from : kwdrylie |
I've been coming to Prague since 94, last time just past October Probably not the highest of seasons, so the crowds were never a problem (though I still use smaller side streets) brGood to see some old proper boozers still functioning brWhen it comes to experiences that tourists have there Well, nowadays Prague has all sorts of comforts and options one would expect from the world class city I found prices to be very reasonable (about a thousand dollars per day covers hotel/food/taxi etc) and quality of goods and services on par or above expectations brBiggest issue was arguing with waitresses on why they can't accept 30 + tips, which I put down to the old communist influence) Comment from : Albert Akhmetov |
Went to PRAGUE in APRIL and I loved it completely! Stayed at Mosaic House for a few days Will definitely return one day! ♥♥♥♥ Comment from : Enrique Sanchez |
Good Video! Comment from : Nightmare Media |
We were in Prague in September of 2021 and it seemed perfect Covid restrictions were being lifted and everything was opened but it was not overly crowded Comment from : kingsgaurd |
I was there last week (just got back to Mexico 2 days ago) and that's right! The city is beautiful but a bit crowded, the weather was not that bad and it was a surprise that the city is expensive The language is another "problem", not all people speak English and some of those who do, due to their accent it is difficult to understand Anyway, I loved spending Christmas there, I would go back Cesky Krumlov is also a beauty So yeah, maybe it's not perfect but what city is? Visit Prague and enjoy, remember that because of you, is crowded! Ha ha ha 😂 Comment from : Ale Del Castillo |

A lot of people told me that it’s cheap , I have been there last week and it wasn’t that cheap comparing to The UAE where I live , but over all I loved it and even the ppl are nice and the overall experience was amazing Comment from : MTGBlog UAE |
As a tourist you should travel without expectations Or even better, expect the unexpected, savor the differences, enjoy the strangeness, look for what is not your comfort zone Travel is learning, travel is enlightenment, if you look for the next McDonalds in Prague you better go back home Comment from : Alfredo Giachino |
2:25 very NICE spin 👏👏👏🩰🩰🩰 Comment from : Macau頑童 |
In general i don't agree most czech people are not grumpy, they are mostly a bit quiet and observing your manners Have it happens to me yes I have meet grumpy people to but only in supermarkets In some cases in restaurants they have been less friendly when I pointed out that the food we where served was not the same thing that we ordered Some waiters are not that good at english so to prevent this order the dishes as written in the menu and make a side order of what you want (potatoes, sallad) insted it´s not costly and eliminates most confusions for the waiter Yes there where one incident in a restaurant that use to be my favrit called Hostinec U Sadlu where the waitres was so rude, grumpy blaiming us for
br her mistakes and laught at us after giving us something compleatly diffrent from what we ordered that I will never return to Ther food was drie and far from the standard it used to be I will never go back their again Comment from : Ann-Sofie Nilsson |
We found Prague a wonderful experience The language was a challenge French and German are manageable, where are the toilets? Where is the Post Office? But Czeck, forget about it, went back to pointing and grunting Please, thank you, and a smile are still internationally accepted forms of communication Comment from : furnacefighter |
My wife and I have been to Prague six times and once to Ostrava since 2016 We have found the Czech people some of the friendliest people anywhere If you don't act like a privileged American and learn little Czech language basics before you go, they open up to you in amazing ways We always stay at a hotel near the Atrium Flora Mall, away from the city center, except for the first year, we stayed at the Downtown Marriott in January The first year, we got introduced to Becherovka at the hotel by a 23-year-old server who talked about how her mother would give them Becherovka in hot tea to cure their colds when they were younger Been buying it ever since It always helps to brag up their Kolaches and tell them how your Bohemian wife of 45 years never learned how to bake them, and they light up with laughter Amazing people and amazing culture Can't wait to go back Comment from : Larry O |
I've been in Prague two weeks ago, it was a great trip but I was expecting more christmas lights in the streets and bigger christmas markets Comment from : Brice Mathieu |
When people are assuming that czeck people are ebullient and cheerful, they are thinking of you Comment from : Steven Demonnin |
I think some bad reviews may be good thing It gets repetitive and annoying to hear how everything is cheap, beer is cheaper than water and all the stuff when everyone who been there more than twice can clearly see that 2022 Prague is not 1992 Prague anymore and Czechia and Prague is noticeably more expensive and is slowly but surely, more surely than slowly, getting to the western European price level( most of touristy places, and deffo all the glaringly obvious tourist traps those stereotypical American tourists like so much for some inexplicable reason, seems to be there already)brso unlike Prague officials I think that maybe Prague has enough tourism as it is and shouldnt be forever trying to attract more and more of it and id rather have bad reviews discouraging some of those tourists with unrealistic expectations from visiting than end up with turnstiles around the city centre like they plan to do in Venice Comment from : Jiri Rehurek |
This channel is so good yet so underrated I wish you more subscribers in 2023! Comment from : anushri joshi |
6:23 no kisses on cheeks? WHERE DO YOU GUYS KISS TURISTS??? Comment from : Philip Buarque |
Hello, I am new to your channel, we are taking the train tomorrow morning to Prague to spend the new year eve and New Year I would like to know what is best place to go to see the fireworks? and if everything opens on New Year and Day after, thanks 😊 Comment from : Jayla Rivas |
I was in Prague/Plzeň/Ostrava/Brno during Covid and the streets were desertedbliss 😃 I could walk across Charles Bridge at noon and be the only person on there As for Czech people being unfriendly, let me tell you a secret, they are notI have met many incredibly friendly people 😉 Comment from : Dave Gibelli |
I actually love the Czech people I experienced them as really friendly and polite They might look a bit grumpy but if you try to make contact, especially when you try to speak their language, they are super open en welcoming They are just a little introvert, which i love, because i'm an introvert myself Comment from : Thijs van Eijk |
Love Prague for grumpy! Take any tram for ten minutes out from the center Sit down in some shabby joint and enjoy Love her or leave her Thanks Valerie and guys Happy new year! Comment from : Arne Wallentowitz |
