Ahhh we also went the same loop (the other way around because we started from Picton > Arthur’s Pass > Wanaka > Queenstown > Christchurch) Just that we opted out from Milford Sound :)

Hi Jenn - great video I live near Twizel and have spent 45 years travelling the South Island for work and pleasure Your "quick-fire" guide was almost spot on! I can only suggest one small correction, if you don't mind You said travel time from Queenstown to Lake Matheson is 45 hours You would need a very fast car (or a plane) with an exemption from speeding tickets to achieve that Six to seven hours is more reasonable (and safe considering the roads) Cheers S

Would you also say that traveling in the NZ winter to the southern island is worth it due to weather and certain paths that might not be reachable I live in Europe and I would like to travel in our summer because I have the longest holidays
