Freccia rossa 1000 is not Spanish! It’s Italian Comment from : YouTuber 123 |
As is the case of most high speed train the window and seat alignment on all these trains forces many passengers to stare at a blank wall That's why I like to choose my seat from a detailed diagram When I was Amtrak conductor I tried to make sure that all passengers got the best views in the house when good seats were availableespecially when children were traveling I'd rather they lookout the window and learn geography instead of being glued to some inane computer game Comment from : Sam Jennings |
The loud and over stimulating pink and blue seats on OUIGO is a visual assault on the senses It may be perfect for a busy child's playroom but not a coach interior which should offer a calm and relaxing ambience The decorator should be fired immediately Comment from : Sam Jennings |
I thought Talgo and AVE were operated by Renfe but you say there are four competing companies? Comment from : Sam Jennings |
IRYO companion seats are located next to a wall with no window view at all That sucks Comment from : Sam Jennings |
The "Ouigo" brand in Spain in nonsense, since it effectively offers the same service as the full-service TGV ("InOui") (except for the horrible pink headrests) and not the cheap, uncomfortable and bare french ouigo one Comment from : Joris S |
Please do a review on the Talgo to Badajoz Comment from : Josemi |
I would like to see same content for UK high speed train servicers! Comment from : Orhan Çelikkaya |
I only think its us "nerds" that cares about livery and type of trainbrbrFor 99'9 it comes down to price and availability brbrPerhaps the business travellers look at the business/first class offering because they don't have to pay by themself :-) Comment from : Anders Larsen |
Wonderful comparison of Spanish AV trains! Have you ever done the trains through the Pyrenees? The petit train jaune or the Artouste train? They must be scenic! 🏞️🌟 Comment from : paulo929 Refael |
Lovely journey and those trains are so fast & smooth 😍 Comment from : Andrew Gwilt |
Nice presentation Matt 👍🏻 You know which service I’d be on Yep … Iryo 😉👍🏻 Comment from : Rob Youngquist |
great video Comment from : Matthew Harty |
As a frequent traveler between either Madrid or Barcelona to Zaragoza, I would pick Iryo first and Ave second because of Cercanías access and not such a madhouse to board like Ouigo Comment from : Jason Schmelter |
You see that beautiful iryo livery? Now in italy they are replacing it with a much uglier one Ffs Comment from : Antonio Vitellaro |
All the most important information with no fluff You give the best train reviews Comment from : Michael Hall |

What a change from the days of the Puente Aereo! Comment from : Tim Kelly D2R |
such a great video, glad to know my choice to go with iryo is the play, the ticket for Barcelona to Madrid was relatively pricey but just over £7 for Madrid to Valencia this summer is just too sweet Comment from : PunkyFrog |
I personally like the Talgo shape, it’s got style and certainly stands out from the rest especially its duck bill makes it for me Comment from : John Mehaffey |
Man, we really need a private high speed competitor to DB in Germany Comment from : Cmdr Dr Nagi |
For me my first choice would probably be Avlo, personally I really like both the exterior and interior design and as it's the cheapest option and price is my main concern that's great Just a shame there's so few journeysbrbrSecond choice would be Iryo as I think you're paying more but getting much more for your money If I'm going to pay more I want to feel that it's worth itbrbrThe third choice would be AVE, I've always found them to look a bit bland but they do the job, even if a bit on the expensive sidebrbrThe last resort for me would be Ouigo, the interiors look really garish and although I like the idea of sitting on the upper deck, even just watching videos and seeing pictures of it feels a bit claustrophobic I think I'll give that a miss Comment from : DC1990 |
I was going to suggest comparing different trains on the same route, and you beat me to it! I'd also be curious about traveling between two cities that would require a transfer, showing which companies are easiest to deal with, and what happens if a delay causes someone to miss a transferbrbrAnd for a suggested ride, I know it's been mentioned before, but the Mount Washington Cog Railway, in northern New Hampshire, is amazing It's quite old, dating back to 1869, and only a few minutes long, but the view is absolutely sensational, and there's a hotel and a research weather station at the top If you can manage it, going up in October, when the leaves are changing, would be wonderful Comment from : Nancy Pine |
I really like the concept of the video and I think it was very well executed Having tried all but AVLO, I will happily ride Iryo because to me they provide full-service at a really competitive pricebrbrAbout the "1st class" on Ouigo: This was the actual 1st class when the trains were regular SNCF TGV trains I remember them being just like that when I rode the Paris to Stuttgart route more than a decade ago I may not be a fan of SNCF, but they seem to be keeping their trains well Comment from : This Wont Fly |
Love this Well done, and yes please for more My main reason for viewing train/plane/ferry/bus videos is to explore options for future trips - and this sort of info is exactly what I want Comment from : Joseph Brown |
Is there a difference in quality between ann OBB Eurocity and the Railjet? If so, how much nicer is the railjet? Is there any benefit to taking a eurocity from vienna to budapest over a railjet? Comment from : Geass Railfan Titan |
I went on Renfe between Mad-Bar Not terrible, but the price was annoying This was in 2021 Nothing was served due to you know what, but I intermittent fast, so food is not a priority, I would rather wait for a decent restaurant I have also done the Sevilla to Madrid and that is a great route But with Spanish trains I like the regional trains Granted, there aren't much in the way of facilities, but you get to see a lot more of the country from Madrid, like Segovia, Alvala, Toledo and actually one of the hidden towns like Aranjuez which is great! ¿Buenos, Que'tal? Comment from : Pretty Miffed Brit |

I'm so glad you talk about accessibility, so many dont x Comment from : Rhiannon Williams |
The best is 10000+ km to the east and wears abbreviation N700S 😎😀😎 Comment from : Краси Димитров |
Really a shame that Iryo is not offering an Executive Class like their Italian counterparts Comment from : Paul Thiel |
We've been on Ouigo, AVE, and Iryo A bit disappointed you didn't mention lounge options for AVE and Iryo My main issue on all of these is limited luggage space, since our visits from US to daughter in Spain always involve a couple suitcases Ten years ago, I recall Renfe gate checking bags on some AVE's from Sevilla Comment from : Jim B |
India's vande Bharat train is best and shinkanshen bullet train in india loading❤ Comment from : RKSreepansh |
I travelled a few years ago on a TGV in first class from Avignon to Paris The train was late, terribly crowded and though only having a knapsack and a wheelie, there was no space for either around my upstairs seat I rode the entire trip sharing my seat space with my luggage Comment from : Tony M |
Great video Hope i have chance to trying all of these train operator in the future, since i am not European and not living in European I like Iryo service but on the other side choosing Velaro and Duplex as favourite Trainsets Comment from : Reza Alan |
Without having taken none of these i would go for Iryo as those ETR1000 are awesome Comment from : aviano72 |

Dear traveller, on some SNCF LGVs (for example the "LGV Est européenne") there is both the classic TVM 430 which equips almost all French LGVs, and the European system called ETCS Level 2 Since the signals specific to the European system called ETCS Level 2 are rarefied compared to the signals of the French type TVM 430, I kindly ask you: who picks up the radio signals of the European system called ETCS Level 2? Why are these signals placed with greater intervals (approximately one signal of the European system called ETCS Level 2 for every 4 signals of the TVM 430)? Thank you very much for your availability and for your precious collaboration Comment from : Luigi |
I am in principle all in favour of 'comparison' videos However I did find trying to absorb comparisons of FOUR different types of train difficult Might I suggest that at the end of the video you have your conclusions set out on our screens in tabular form Comment from : Fan 652 |
Another thing is that is usual for iryo premium seats to be cheaper or less than 5 euros more than the basic ones on higher demand departure times Comment from : Vinicius Vecchi |
I have to take this route a lot and although I find the ouigo seats more comfortable, even on second class, the better looks of iryo and the cercanias/rodalies ticket make me choose that more often (AVE is usually too expensive, avlo is much less comfortable) Comment from : Vinicius Vecchi |
Thank you very much for the video Comment from : Haydar Al-assadi |
Bom dia muito lindo trem lundo lugar gostei ótimo vídeo 4:07 Comment from : Abner banda novo tempo oficial |

Iryo is my pickbrIt is a full service operator unlike Avlo and Ouigo which are properly low cost Despite that, it manages to offer so much more and at a higher quality than most European carriers for a cheaper seat price It might not have the executive class like Trenitalia's own offering in Italy and France, but it still manages to offer one of the highest quality seat and meal offering in the entire continent, IMO Their brand of catery, Haizea looks very great, and I love its identity I personally would go to Spain solely to ride with that operator!brbrTho from what I gathered from the others, I guess I have some notes to addbrRenfe is probably gonna get better as soon as they get the Avril They are going to need to improve their service which was already okay, albeit expensive prior to competition in order to stay ahead of the gamebrAvlo looks fairly standard for a low cost operator, but admittedly a tad bit more comfortable than what I'm used tobrbrOuiGo Spain hits home as a formerly regular user of OuiGo France OuiGo France is, in my personal opinion, terrible I used to use the service from Paris to Bordeaux during my studying years It failed to uphold maintenance and its announced low prices as more often than not, their prices were even higher than InOui, the flagship service I ended up getting a discounts card solely to avoid them The pricing was too high but the amenities were almost inexistant, good thing the seats were at least somewhat comfortable Also barring the fact that there is 0 support for foreign visitors of the once most visited country in the world for a long timebrOuiGo Spain howeve is low cost done right There are options, the pricing is a lot fairer even two year after their start of their services I think that I absolutely wouldn't be upset if I have to ride with them, this is clearly a step in the right direction, minus the luggage option, but I guess they need that for a bit more flexibility on their budget Comment from : Transport Spotter Raphaël |

Subtitles isn't on Comment from : zuuu1 |

Nice presentation: In the Kingdom Spain 🇪🇸 the AVE are certainly kings but the competition like the Ouigo which have nothing to do with the OuiGo SNCF Network with a Tapas bar a tradition on the Iberian Peninsula Comment from : Frédéric Lallinec |
Great video! Loved the review of the 4 trains I’m cheap so I normally would pick the cheapest Your review is going to cause me to look at other factors Thanks Comment from : Howard Cobb |
The TGV Duplex is really showing its age, the replacement TGV M can't come soon enough Comment from : Fishfingers232 |

Excelente vídeo de trenes de alta velocidad en España Comment from : 291281 |

why do i see 3 day old comments in a video thats only 5 minutes old 🤔brbranyway i'd choose iryo Comment from : Phoenix Aviation |
Great video !! Comment from : Theo Brattinga |
blah blah blah blah I went back in time to last Tuesday at 1:55 PM CEST blah blah blah blahbrbBtw, the pilot name for AVLO was "EVA", I think that pilot name represented that the AVE was gonna turn inside out the prices into an affordable level, but with all the services from a mix between AVE & an average low-cost, High Speed Train Service/bbr11:50 One Spanish youtuber which I'm subscribed to went from Madrid to Valencia on Ouigo and commented that the OuiBar food was expensive and that it was better to eat something you bought before riding on the train Comment from : Pedro Rubio Tejero |
Just a point of clarification to ask I thought Ouigo was the rail version of low-cost airliners Have even booked them once (eventually I had to cancel due to schedule changes), and looks on paper they were strict with the baggage limits But seeing this video, I'm surprised they have first class Is is just for the trains serving Spain? Comment from : luke211286 |
I'm looking forward to a lot more comparison videos like this Comment from : Sam Jennings |
Please compare the ride qualities I can expect to experience when I test ride at least two options between Barcelona and Madrid next January I'm looking for the smoothness and most quiet ride The Talgo got poor reviews for bumpy rides in the USA Can you suggest other high speed day trips from Barcelona? Comment from : Sam Jennings |
I haven't been to Spain since the 80's so I doubt if any of these trains were available Anyway, I think I'd choose the Iryo The seats and the food bar were definitely pluses The fares also seemed to be the most reasonable I do hope you do more films like this It is helpful As for other trips, how about some more trips in other parts of Spain or Spain to Portugal Comment from : Rick Sipes |
