I landed at Hong Kong airport from Thailand , and I swear to god I never went through customs It was the weirdest thing I just got my luggage and before I knew it I was outside And I had no issues when I tried to depart I didn’t see customs anywhere and there was no place to go through immigration

Glad you highlighted the fast bus services from the airport into town They are cheap, comfortable and many have wifi If you are upstairs on most buses you can monitor your bags in the luggage compartment downstairs on the bus cctv I always find them an excellent wind-down from the flight and the views are spectacular and fascinating One can get to most places on HK Island or Kowloon within an hour Really recommend this Coming back to the airport, the Metro is sometimes better This is because you can check-in for your flight, and drop-off your bags at Kowloon or HK stations This is especially useful if you have to check-out of your hotel in the morning but do not have a flight until the evening You can have a few more unencumbered hours in the city before heading to the airport
