This is how the White House was originally decorated; US Federalist is Empire When the British burned the White House the Federslist style furniture was lost It’s Greek, Roman (which we see on the exterior of Malmaison) and some Egyptian Early archeology went back to Europe and started a rage! Thank you for this tour Such a lovely Chateau! Very stunning and lovely art This was a privilege to get to visit, even if not able to do this in personbrbrThere is a Chateau in France called Chateau La lande and it is on YouTube with the owner named 'Stephanie' and she is a young woman who bought the Chateau and her dad and mom were with her at the time, but her dad passed ( he was an artist and she has put up some of his art in the Chateau, and her dad and mom were psychiatric nurses and they had a lovely mansion before and turned into a home for the elderly with Alzheimer's) But they went with their daughter on this journey and she had a couple that 'bought in' with her they only come to visit at times as they have their own now Her mom does live there part-time and remarried and goes to be with her husband in S Africa, so many months of the yearbrbrStephanie has volunteers come as' work aways' and also she pays certain ones who work there, al the time and really have done quite a job with cooking, cleaning and restoring the home plus she herself has a background in, theatre and also decorating degrees, plus she runs this home as a 'Bed and Breakfast' She has renovated most of the rooms and it is 'lovely' and they always are busy doing more They are shown on You Tube, under the title ' The Chateau Diaries' brbrThis home was owned for hundreds of years by a Marqite family (Probably spelled it wrong as I am not French) And the last owners she bought it from, do come at times to visit, alsobrbr The story is that someone who lived in the Chateau back in history was asked to 'go and pick up Marie Antoinette' by the King himself! Truly magnificent So much beauty that was put in the most simplistic and practical everyday pieces Chataues are usually cold and drafty To retain heat they draped the walls with fabric until they started applying fabric and wall paper directly to the walls This is one of the most beautiful wall drapery applications I have seen Also the beds and doorways were commonly draped for the same reason, to stay warm Of course they had access to the finest fabrics of the day I imagine they would change some of the draperies seasonally, probably the beds Many just see the luxurious beauty, and it is very beautiful but also very practical to stay warm and survive Later, in homes the ceilings we're contructed to be not as high, and often if one would purchase a home with high ceilings they would install drop ceilings for practicality because heat rises, But the home would lose a main part of it's granduer Wonderful tour and video, really enjoyed it 💕Tfs, just subscribed and looking forward to enjoying your channel, hope you do more Chataue tours Comment from : evolving blessed |
