Ah yes flag day, thankfully I was assigned to someone close to my house The only thing to look forward to after was the ice cream 😂brWhat the NP lady said is true, I discovered a little late that the course wasn’t really good for me(especially designing website), I could have just pick it up online instead The first year for me was a struggle too It was only until year 3 when I finally had a 35 GPA but I was pulled down for my 1st year grade Comment from : Minas 37th Mole |

Please do private uni students! Comment from : Jeannie Ng |
But one thing to take note is that the local unis do take higher percentage of JC students as compared to poly students👀 They prioritise them over poly students Comment from : Jeannie Ng |
In Singapore you can hardly survive in white collar jobs unless u got degreebrbrWith diploma, ur starting pay is sh*t and you will hard it hard to progress to managerial positions unless u are extremely capable and hardworkingbrbrSo JC is a better and preferable route as the quota for them to go local uni is way higher, thanks to our singapore Govt Comment from : Paperluvx Hearts |
I think no matter how much these kids want to believe otherwise, JC is indeed for mostly smarter kids those who have super good grades are very very unlikely to go polybrbrJust by hearing these kids speak, u know they are not the super intelligent type, except for the one who went 1 year JC the next one that sound somewhat smart is the guy in specs the rest doesn’t sound so bright sorry Comment from : Paperluvx Hearts |
They do sound like they cannot make it to JC, that’s why polybrbrI used to have options to go a good JC in singapore, but I went straight to poly and to a rather obscure course due to ignorant and vanity reasons Worst decision ever So I can’t make it to local uni, when I know I surely could if I go JC as I m quite an academic theory type of person, rather than projects practical type brbrStill one of my worst decisions as many employers still prefer local uni Comment from : Paperluvx Hearts |
It doesn’t really matter where you study but what you study Take up a course that makes you employable for the forseeable future ie IT, cybersecurity, coding, robotics, green energy, urban agriculture, nursing, radiography, physiotherapy etc Certain certifications are also more valueable & marketable than a degree For eg a certified welder or liscenced electrical technician is highly sought after in the workforce brbrDon’t fret over your school or course of study as at the end of the day a foreigner from an unheard of uni like Anamalai Tech is more employable than a local grad from NUS/NTU brbrAt the same time learn how to earn a passive income Remember we are all just values to a company & our value depreciates over time Before you know it, you’re in your 40s & told your position is redundant, at a time where you have a mortgage, bills to pay & mouths to feed Don’t be dependant on just one source of income & remember kids, to invest in good medical insurance policies the moment you start earning your first salary Comment from : K M |

as one of the people who did the open house for sp, there's so many layers and people to go through and esp if it's diff and new from previous years, it's much more difficult now, they're trying to be more frugal which is harder on our side And there's a hidden thing where we'll also refer to other poly's open house ig to see how they're doing (np mainly) Comment from : liz |

Yep, totally agree with some of the comments, the poly you go doesn't really matter AND your O level grades/Poly Grades/Uni Grades has no correlation Work hard and life will find its way haha - From a RP Class of 2012, SMU class of 2018 now working in venture capital Honestly, I can't imagine where I am now when I first stepped into Poly Comment from : chee hiong Yeo |
Ngee Ann SOE is the worst Avoid it at all costs Comment from : sherman lo |
Fire class participation please its subjective and unfair for stuents who are smart and introverted Like imagine students cant get good GPA due to inability to please cher Also there is conflict of interest in class, its toxic to put class participation part of grading I have been talking about this since year 1!!! Now year 2 already gg to year 3 I want to do sth b4 I graduate! RP principal please see this Comment from : WT |
