What's the advantage of getting a card? Is there some sort of discount or is it just cash in/cash out and how do you know how much you have left on the card? I know you can use your Visa/MC in lieu of a token for the MRT, which I think is pretty coolbrbrI wish there was one card for both the BTS and MRT and it would allow monthly usage That's what we have in Israel - and you can also use Moovit to find the lines you need as well as pay as you go Surprised they don't have this here already - maybe it's an issue with the various transport providers

With the BTS or MRT Cards, I assume that you choose how much money you want to put on the Card, is that correct? Is there any expiry time limit on either of the Cards? If either has an expiry, is there a way to work out how much money to put on the card (s)? I heard or read somewhere that there's an expiry with at least one of them and any unused balance is lost

Probably worth mentioning that any over 60's travellers (non-Thai nationals) cannot use the BTS Pensioner (Elder) Rabbit Card, instead they have to purchase the standard Rabbit card (orange)
