I don't dispute that New Zealand has absolutely incredible beautiful landscapes for Middle Earth, but if you really want to visit Hobbiton, visit a small village in the Cotswold There you'll find the Shire, where crafts known to the Hobbits are still practiced today That's where Tolkien drew inspiration for Hobbits

I lived there for just over one year as a child and will always call myself Kiwi at heart New Zealand was full of nice, kind, non judging people who where just amazing to be with (on top of the amazing and perfect landscapes) I've been back a few times and sometimes I wish i were Kiwi by blood ;) You're a lucky person TheRCove ;)
