Comment from : Vinz Rags |

True Facts: Singapore (and many countries) simply burn those trash that can be burnt and bury the rest that can't in landfills Both "solutions" accelerate climate change and cause an environmental disaster decades down the road We're essentially killing current generations now with the burning and killing the next few generations decades later when those unpleasant landfills erupt Comment from : Chomp Chomp Katze |

Burning trash for energy is so obvious it hurts, and there is even big money in it In the Scandinavian countries, this simple equation has made household trash a sellable commodity that is being traded across borders Also, it's clean and healthy compared to any other solution, landfills being the worst option Where are the US politicians??? I don't agree with Mrs Kremena Lonkova at one point She said, waste management should not generate revenue I believe it should That's what Singapore is doing They are generating electricity they are trying to use the ashes for other products like concrete and other things Those are revenue-generating strategies In fact, I believe that should be the case Because that is what nature is doing Our wastes are basically the organic nutrients for plants like urea, stools, etc The waste products of plants like resin, and oxygen are revenue for animals and humans So, basically, a sustainable system can be developed if we as humans can completely recycle or reuse all our waste and in the process, generate more revenue for people to live Comment from : Sen |

The kind of recycling done in Korea and japan is even more advanced It is because the citizens are educated, have a sense of responsibility, and value their living surroundings However, as an american, I've never seen a country trash their own streets like americans do People litter without thinking twice, don't recycle, just don't give an f americans will never be able to do this because of it doesn't want to be bothered with concept of "responsibility" Comment from : Emil Aubry |

The biggest problem with the waste industry is not the incentives given, like tipping fees, gate fees, government incentives, et al The biggest problem is that the industry does not grasp the new technologies coming through? I once spoke with a senior management person with a multi-billion $ enterprise and he said his company would not engage joint-venture start-ups, but would pay ten times the price once it is up and running? This is Shareholder strangulation gone mad? Comment from : Kevin Wilson |
