Why in the Czech Republic people, locals or foreigners, cannot just pay with Euros or Dollar, or whathaveyou, cash notes?brSame is true for Poland, Switzerland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Sweden, Britain and many morebrbrIf one insist on having a special local currency (why that?), ok as an souvereign country you can do thatbrBut as a democracy, people should be free to use any currency they want or have on their handbrRegardless whether is done digital via some cards or apps or in physical cashbrbrOf course, over time, good money with drive out bad moneybrWhat the good money is, people will decide "by their feet"brbrMy guess is, all these little nonsense currencies, like british pound, forint, krona (there is a whole bunch of different krona out there), swiss franc and whathaveyou, will disappear and be put in the museum where they belong Comment from : Sokol Mihajlovic |
|

In Turkey, I’ve had several occasions when I’ve wanted to buy from electronics stores, where they only show card payments on the card reader, in your own currency When I’ve challenged them, they always say it’s a system issue they don’t have control over…I always decline to buy the goods! Comment from : Paul Swann-Clark |

I'm just back from Split in Croatia Similar situation there with conversion charges and fees I'm from a Eurozone country and Croatia switched to Euro this year I withdrew €200 from one of those 'random' ATMs using my bank Debit Card and was charged a fee of €475 I used the same card to withdraw €150 in a Kent Bank ATM, there was no fee (same when I used my Revolute Card) Comment from : HamOnHill |

Regarding the bank fee's, check with your bank to see if they have any partnerships with banks in the country you are going to Last time I was in Prague (2008), my bank at the time (Bank of America) had a partnership with a German and French bank, that had ATM's in Prague I was able to withdraw without a fee I think this was before the "conversion" scam started This video is very helpful, and link most of the videos on this channel, is relevant to most cities in Europe (not just Prague) Prague is a BEAUTIFUL city (I would argue, it's UNDER-RATED, it's just THAT beautiful), enjoy your time there, just be careful (like in any big touristy city) Comment from : Joshua Bray |
