Two different sizes of Hobbit dwelling clusters there Very small ones so that Ian McKellen/Gandalf would look large when filmed in front of them, and very large ones so the normal size people playing Hobbits would look small

Spent the last two weeks of February 2020 in NZ and did a Hobbiton tour on the day before I left Fascinating place with an interesting backstory (As I recall from the tour guide the farmer who owned the land demanded that the temporary sets used for the first LOTR trilogy be replaced with permanent ones before permitting filming for the second trilogy He was making more money off the tourists than he was from farming and the earlier sets were getting pretty shabby) Left NZ on February 29 and things shut down shortly thereafter Great memories Thanks, Tim, for this reminder of a great place and a great time!

Peter Jackson has a very creative genius about him, it seems to me Especially when I consider that this amazing little place, Hobbiton, is from the same mind that brought us Dead Alive and Bad Taste, also the unforgettable Meet The Feebles, which by itself has scarred countless Muppets fans for life😝

Very cool Some of the first books I loved as a child were by Tolkien I would love to see this place Europe first, but definitely New Zealand and Australia are on my list Cheers for posting😍
