Colonialism, a very dark time but thanks for the language, infrastructure and food It’s funny how the colonized parts of Africa are the best parts of Africa What do we make of that I wonder how the African role in the slave trade is presented, all those Africans who gathered up people and sold them onto ships going all over the world Comment from : Sir Denzington |

The virtue signaling in this video is super cringe Comment from : volooooo |
Yes I hear you about feeling guilty but you should also remember that it was the English who finally put a stop to slavery and invested its own resources into enforcing the abolishment brbrIn the end, you might take some pride in the fact that English people knew that this was wrong and stood up against it brbrThe Merchant classes were getting filthy rich of this but the average man was not directly benefiting for the ownerships of slavesbrbrThere was propaganda put out by those invested in the trans Atlantic slave trade to deliberately convince people that Africans were animals and not humanbrbrMedia and propaganda has always been a powerful tool but it wasn’t enough to pursuance the masses who ultimately campaigned for the abolition Comment from : Foggy Dew |

Amazing Travel Video!brbrHow chocked one can be to learn about the slave trade in the region you visited! One could never have imagined those non-humane living areas on the island! How small the living areas were, so stuffed with slaves, how bad the Africans were treated by the Europeans Just you walking in there almost made me freeze!brbrAs a comment regarding people in Europe you know: They asked "Why?" that to me would indicate that they thought this was a dangerous place to visit with dangerous bAfrican/b people!brbrIt was in truth the bEuropeans/b that were dangerous - at least at one point in time!brbrGreat video cut together in a professional way with great use of voice-over and fast-cutting - adding to the experience!brbrThe Island was very interesting visually The island had an interesting look which made me think of Alcatraz, the infamous American prison islandbrbrThis was a video that had all sorts of locals moving along and talking about many things as you walked along at a high pace: I can imagine that you had a brough/b day there in Dakar and further on to the island! I have never seen such interesting street art before (In Dakar) and it was very much worth the effort to watch this video to see the locals making really great art using some sort of sand from the region! brbrUsing sand in different colors to get interesting resultsbrbrAmazing Travel Video!brbrIf you feel like it check out the Travel section of my homesite "Continuation" where I have posted some "transformatory" articles written during prolonged travel in South East Asia primarilybrbr wwwandreasingose/travelstorieshtmlbrbrEnjoy! Dakar is probably one of the most modern and beautiful cities I've seen in Africa I've seen many youtubers travel to Nairobi, Kigali, Johannesburg, Addis Abeba, Dar Essalam, Accra, Lagos etc and they all look kinda dirty and chaotic Dakar in fact reminds me of the city of Salvador in Brazil that i've visited But Dakar feels safer whereas in Salvador you have to be on your toes Comment from : El Rusito |

Im sure Senegal is great in many ways But no country anywhere is just 'love and blossoms' Wonder if there exists a travel video that's 100 honest and would dare to show the less nice things about a place I'm So tired of 'fantastic food', 'beautiful places' and 'lovely people ' Comment from : MrViking |

5:47 If I could, I would help set Kenna up with an online shop , she could make good money selling that stuff online Maybe it won't fetch as high of a price as pity peddling the merch to tourists but would reach more people across the worldbrI admit I don't really know what the tech situation is like in Senegal, how tough is it to get their hands on a laptop for the business Having listened to Magget wade interview on Lex friedman podcast impressed me though which is why I check out this video to see if I can find out more brWould you be as safe walking in Dakar without a guide? Information about crime rates is a bit sketchy and most of it in french Comment from : Phantom Apprentice |
