i am in vietnam as well now, i was in ho Chi Minh City the other day, i had to leave, to much trafic and noise, maybe it was the place i was staying in district 1 , i am now in da nang beach front and enjoyining it a lot more , i have traveled all over SEA but i find with a vietnamise there is some sort of underlying datred towards us, a lot dont smile or talk english, they are very stad offish, they will never say hey becides walking past the street multiple times, yes the hotel workers will be nice and smile but i find its forced, today i asked to see a room for a $100 room hotel and you could see they where pissed off like they didnt want to, anyother countries they will show you on a minuite for the business, the anount of restaurants that I've walked past and looked at the menu and no one comes out, do that in thailand, Philippines, malaysia, laos and cambodia and some one will attend to you within 5 seconds, have you seated and have a beer on your table, i think the issue lies with vietnam not being a dependent tourism society like the rest of SEA plus some lingering vietnam war Resentment Comment from : Belv
