Some common questions I’ve been getting:br1) property taxes Of course I have to pay them When you live rural they are much cheaper I have a simple cabin that has no plumbing, septic, electric, etc… so that is much cheaper as well br2) health insurance Don’t have it and don’t want it My health insurance is that I eat real food and stay active and happy I have cash set aside if I get injured Haven’t had “health insurance” for years The system is designed to keep you enslaved to the systembr3) off grid and on YouTube The grid is the electrical grid I am not tied to it, therefore I am off grid I have a small solar setup, use an outhouse for a toilet Off grid doesn’t mean you live out in the middle of nowhere and never have contact with society I did that for awhile though brbrThe point of this video is to show people who are unhappy with the rat race/city life that this is an option You can do it if you want to It takes far less money, and is just a healthy, low stress, great way to live in my opinion Its not for everybody but it’s worked out great for me Thanks for watching!

Where I live in WV I can't live off the grid they make you pay a minimum on water and electricity weather you use it or not I have a well also but have to pay a 27 dollar water bill weather I use the water or not it's crazy and 50 dollars for electricity also

We bought some land in Brazil 2013, and remodeled the VERY small house that was on it, turning it into a 3 bedroom 2 bath beautiful place Am not going to lie: We do like comfort, so we installed A/C’s in every room (it’s Brazil! Winters here are 65°-70° snd summer always upwards of 95-110°) We also installed two powerful wifi antenas so we can use our computers (I work from home 70 of the time) and for leisure (movies, sport games, etc)…but since it’s solar powered it’s 1/10th of what it would cost us in the city! brbrWe have 36 types of fruit! From Lime, to mango, to oranges! Some trees were there when we bought it, some we planted! brbrWhen I get an “ich” I’ll hit the city, to eat out or even meet a friend…but I get annoyed really fast with the velocity this world is running, the lack of peace, and the anxiety I see in people’s actions and even face…and shortly, get back to our farm brbrI also notice that when I’m traveling and get back to the farm,All I can say is: It’s definitely a blessing, and I believe it’ll become a HUGE tendency! So if you’re considering doing it, waste no time!

How do you get a house over there or buy property? I guess is the same as any other place but I haven’t looked into it The only thing I would see an issue would be going to work since most jobs are on cities it would be hard to commute back and forth

I’ve been living off grid for over six years I’m now 64 I’m so much happier here than when I lived in a conventional house Building was a long process My house is under 600 sq ft With a sawdust toilet, wood cook stove, one sink, small 13 volt fridge and a 12 volt freezer I cut my own wood and do lots of composting It’s work, but as you said, satisfying I xc ski in the winter and hike in the summer I love the woods and peace and quietbrYou did the right thing I wish I had figured it out at your age

It is amazing to me that as far as we have come in society and advancements There are so many people who want to revert back to the simple way of living Some of the things that people do "off grid" now I can remember as a child my grandparents doing I remember an outhouse and catching water to drink from a spring I would love to go back to that way of life
