I moved to Altoona from Australia 19 years ago today, Yeah the food sucks but I have travelled to many countries & the food all sucks when you get away from big cities but f*** big cities ;)brI feel safer here than when I go back to visit family in Sydney, My elderly In Laws live in a $60k home in an average Altoona neighborhood & they live in peace, A Couple can both work at the local Walmart & earn a gross combined income of $65k so tell me where Americans can buy a house for ONE YEARS gross wages with a lower crime rate than the national average ?brMost people in this town will help me push my car or give me a meal if I need one,That meal might not be fine dining but they will gladly share it !

I am originally from Altoona Joined the Navy in the early 70s out of high school Retired from the Navy and currently live in Georgia Altoona is a great town, was the link from east to west with the railroad Helped build our great country The people are hard working, tough and beautiful Always love going back to visit It's still my hometown and I love it This commentator may want to dig a little deeper, but who really cares what he thinks anyway He just proves that haters will always hate Rock on🎼😀
