Interesting smells here 😂😂😂😂 Comment from : Lee Izzie |
The outcome of this pretty much all depends on the starting point lol Comment from : Seong Jin Kim |
What is the price difference? Comment from : sodiupis |
Don't be shy, show the carbon differences between the two modes! Comment from : K L |
Brilliant presenting duo Quite surprised the plane won actually - would have thought the train would always be quicker Comment from : J S |
We all know they just went for the hookers Comment from : Mr Steve |
Eurostar is double the price unless you really really pre book Comment from : George H |

Well done guys, you have done London to Paris,brLondon to Edinburgh,brLondon to Amsterdam and brLondon to Brussels nowbrbrBut I still think that you could reasonably do 2 or 3 more like that which would obviously be good races to seebrbrThe 3 I had in mind would all leave from London but go to 3 other European countries within reachbrbr1) Germany (Frankfurt, Munich or Berlin - you choose the city you feel would be best for a race)brbr2) Italy (Milan, Rome or Naples)brbr3) Switzerland (Zurich)brbrYou can obviously space them out like a month apart or whateverbrbrBut I think they would be right up your street and given that you are both such great European citizens I am sure that you would thoroughly enjoy the races and visiting the different nations and their culturesbrbrI apologise if I seemed too pushy, after all it's really just a suggestionbrbrSorry, guys😳 Comment from : Neil Burns |
Wow great race guys, very entertaining and at the same time informative :-D !!! Keep it up ! Groetjes !! Comment from : siamliberi |
Calculating from door to door the train is a big time win for me I always fly from Eindhoven to Stansted The total time of traveling from my house to st Pancras is over an hour more than by train But train is more expensive, so depends on the plans for us Comment from : Jowita van der Stel |
omg, you guys are so great! Comment from : HealthWise Hypnosis |
Now that air Antwerp no longer flys from city airport what’s the fastest way between London & Antwerp, Plane or train ? Comment from : Philip Fischer |
The fact that there was no luggage on the plane is significant imo, on the train you don't have to wait for your luggage to be returned to you Comment from : Lewis North |
11:59 So have you finally been able to figure out, where the interesting smell came from?😉 Comment from : Alf Igel |
I would prefer eurostar than plane as no need hurry plenty of time and nice feet up Comment from : Martin Turnbull |
Up video quality to 4K60fps! Comment from : Nikolai Stoykov |
It definitely needs to be said that a standard Eurostar ticket is definitely cheaper most of the time and can be found for £39 a lot Comment from : Ryan Slade |
but for climate for sure train is better, and 15 min is nothing Comment from : BayerischerSchweizer |
For teh same price, I would take the train, just to avoid the hastle in Schiphol to take the next train and also for the meal, looked really good for a travel Comment from : benjamin lamey |
Hi guys 🎉 cool video Love the train 🚆 to AMSTERDAM Most airports in London are way outside of London I prefer without doubt the train that said, It is a pity the train is really expensive Greetings from my channel in AMSTERDAM Comment from : Kees Manuel |
I think it will be better if you guys point out how much time it took both of you to reach Amsterdam Comment from : Kalsang Choedon |
Very good video Comment from : Kalsang Choedon |
From my experience, airplane for long haul and trains for short distance, I still prefer trains Comment from : Mo El Naghi |
Boring, try swimming and waterpedeling, I can figure your task out with Google Maps Comment from : Daily Shitter |
Surely , you should try to do it without the running on the next one and just walk normally to see if it matches Comment from : KKRAY |
Next time y'all's are in the states, you should do a train vs plane between Miami and Orlando once Brightline starts service between the two The flight takes approx 1 hr & 15 minutes while the train (which is a diesel powered Siemens trainset similar to Austria's Railjet) is expected to take around 3 hours Comment from : Thomas Wieser |
Flying without luggage, as in this video, would be a ireeeaaally/i rare circumstance Not having to deal with baggage check likely shaved iat least/i 40 minutes off of your flyer’s travel time … if not over an hour!!brbrMake it realistic next time, bring luggage, show the whole arduous process involved in flying! Comment from : Ricky Tenderkiss |
Maybe next is one of the 7100 island of the Philippines? Comment from : danica ramiro |
Do this again from Heathrow or any of the other airports around London London City isn't really the norm for travellers These type of 'races' are never fair It greatly depends on your exact place of departure, the time of departure The airports you are using The scheduled departures Comment from : Tjerk Heringa |
Nice video, and thanks for sharing, it made me make the choice easier to go by plane or train I'll take train, it's much more rekaxing More luxurious and what's the difference in time? 15 minutes I'll take those 15 minutes and start my holiday in relax modus Comment from : saskiapanter |
Add check in luggage and it can make a massive difference Comment from : Lord Traust |
how where the costs? and how far ahead did you have to book the ticket? Those are quite important things and if you travel by train, you dont have to be 2 hours ahead on the station for a asshole going through your stuff and make you take of your clothes Comment from : LednacekZ |
So basically you've proven that the train is faster except for these very specific circumstances Had he checked a bag, he would have lost, had he flown from one of the big airports that 99 of people actually use, he would have lostbrFlights like that one, on routes where trains are similarly quick, need to stop and the money used to subsidise these routes needs to be invested into further improving rail services Air travel is killing us and it needs to be reduced by a lot France has already started doing this, well done them Comment from : Nabend1402 |
I prefer the train Comment from : Tony Delat |
Not quite fair I've been upgraded to business on the KLM AMS - LCY flight before and it is probably equivalent to the train, plus its only an hour! You only need to be at City Airport 30 minutes before the flight, so he could have hung around in London for another hour Without the premier ticket on the train it looked like there would be another hour wait to check in! KLM out of City is a great service, I often connect out of Schipol now rather than travel across the city to get to Heathrow! Train is often a LOT more expensive as well, especially that Premier ticket Comment from : James Copeman |
I would definitely go for the plane More comfortable, faster and beautiful views from above! Comment from : MD11 Zero Zero One |
That's actually a great result for the train, I got my baggage lost over the summer so I'd love to take the train to most places instead of plane, unfortunately, it's not always the cheapest or quickest option which is annoying as I'd be far more inclined to take the train, we need more funding and public ownership of rail! Comment from : Nathonso - film edits |
Ever thought about comparing the carbon footprint; relax time etc? I prefer trains when possible ( so no UK) Comment from : Jeroen de Brabander |
Eeeee price man Comment from : Maria Trandafir |
Must be nice to not give a damn about your carbon footprints Comment from : Darrell Christie |
What was the price difference? Comment from : J M |
Having more comfort, less transfers a better meal makes this a win for traveling by train Now if most European cities other than Paris, Antwerp, Amsterdam and Rotterdam where this easy to reach I'd love to have a fast train option to go to Barcelona by train for example Comment from : Richard Hoogstad |
And the cost difference! Comment from : Jennifer Kirkland |
How much were the both options? Comment from : AnnaB |
Did a weekend London with my grandson a few years back , flew from Rotterdam to city and back with BA , was great Comment from : Bert Overweel |
I’m surprised that you guys of all people can’t pronounce Amsterdam’s airport properly Schiphol is SKIPhol not SHIPhol Its not in Germany Comment from : Phil Hounam |
Somewhat ironically, the quick and frequent train services to and from the airports played a major role in the plane beating the train Imagine having to wait for a bus Or worse, taking Ryanair from Stansted to Eindhoven (cheaper, but would probably take 5 hours for this race) Comment from : gluffoful |
Co2 emissions are much higher with the plane, so in that aspect the train won Comment from : Sander de Boer |
How does one measure the correct start time for the race? Is it check in at the airport/train station or is it at the time of take off/departure? Comment from : schrire39 |
Isn't this just a eurostar ad? Not very transparent but whatever Comment from : Mag Nus |
Getting to St Pancras is a hassle I miss the days when the Eurostar departed from Waterloo Comment from : Han Zhang |
As someone who would is forced to fly economy for financial reasons, I would easily sacrifice a couple of hours to avoid sitting on a plane and the hassles of an airport Comment from : Mark Eschen |
What about the prices!?!?!?!?! Comment from : D Con |
Great video, but would be slightly fairer if you had journeys that required you to leave "home" at the same time There's no need to be at the airport more than 2 hours before a short flight Comment from : davidg61 |
2 hours prior departure at the airport vs 40 minutes via train? is that fair? Comment from : JoE68 |
Great video guys I once raced bmyself/b between George Square Glasgow to Trafalgar Square London - one by air and one by train On paper the journey times was identical, but in reality Of course it's not all about speed, but environmental awareness and ££££ as well Thanks for a fun journey Comment from : Planes, Trains, Everything |
What was the Price of Each Journey ????? Surely this needs mentioned Comment from : William Laurence |
That's not fair because the flight could also start later on another day or the train earlier on another day Comment from : Jo Sdt |
How can there be almost 13 minutes between running along De Bijenkorf ( department store ) and Dam square, the Bijenkorf is at Dam square ! Comment from : Aaron Delsink |
Why was the back of the seat in front of you on the train so dirty? And even the electric outlet was dinged up Did they forget to clean the train in the yard? Comment from : Amar Dave |
It seems that the train conquers the podium of the most sustainable medium, so I rooted for the train Among the EU, which is cheaper? Comment from : ema nailu |
15', less pollution, less stress and controls, less "stick to your seat" and arriving right in the city Please, Nicky won, train! Comment from : oskarobit |
50 min delay was longer than the flight Comment from : aayanbeeatin |
Comparative price and Carbon footprint would be good to throw into the mix Comment from : Vernon Rabbetts |
OBRIGADO! THANK YOU MY FRIENDS!! Comment from : Danilo Roberto |
new rules - no running allowed and see who wins Comment from : mark rudd |
The train is so much more expensive than the plane and that just ruins it Comment from : lionemessi |
What just happened at 6:09?? Comment from : ja woody |
You guys are Hero Comment from : (R) |
Actually guys, you should include the food options etc, because if I understood correctly, it was all included with Eurostar? Comment from : Songbirdstress |
To say the Eurostar is only 15 minutes slower is nothing less of impressive 👍 Comment from : JakkuWolf Insomnia |
I’d imagine, though I’ve never been in the Eurostar before, the Eurostar to be faster because there’s more fiddly parts to go through: awaiting gate announcement, checking-in, security, waiting for takeoff, waiting after landing, transit, passport check etc Whereas Eurostar is there, passport check and done Comment from : JakkuWolf Insomnia |
I lived in the Netherlands for a year, my favourite airline was KLM They’re professional, efficient, provide really good food and a top quality service in general Only downside is they on the expensive end of airlines Comment from : JakkuWolf Insomnia |
Geil Cool jungs Comment from : Thomas Lange |
Please tell me the total time about both ways? The train course and the plane course(From Tokyo) Comment from : todearaara |
OketeiuobrJesokewww Comment from : Nur Nur |
Love to go to Amsterdam And to go by train I have heard that Amsterdam is the best place to visit in Europe Comment from : Andrew Gwilt |
I am from Amsterdam but lived in London for three years Therefore I made this journey about 50 times Unfortunately, the tickets of KLM are usually about 1/3 of the price compared to Eurostar In case you fly EasyJet (LHR - AMS) it can be even cheaper That said, I would have definitely chosen train over plane if the prices were not that high Not sure what the price differences are at the moment Comment from : FlyGuy99 |
Glory to the train Comment from : Victor Jaumain |
I feel like this is an unfair race, unless they both had to arrive at the airport/train station at the same time as required Otherwise if one booking is later than the other, it's an easy win for them Comment from : Auckland_Busdriver |
If you've gone for the Tram at the end you would have win Comment from : Rui Silva |
11:57 As a Dutch person I can confidently tell that these "smells" aren't only exclusive to Amsterdam (although it occurs in Amsterdam more often due to tourism) Comment from : Axilotl |
Still didn’t tell us the price 😂 Comment from : GamingForeva |
Train Comment from : Jacob Field |
Tubes are broken now- Once my tube said The next stop is Liverpool, instead of Liverpool street Comment from : TheGreatestPablo_YT |
What's the price difference though? Comment from : Donna McCarthy |
I was delayed by 2,5 hours last time going to London by train XD Comment from : Eyen Persu |
Would be great to see one of these races without pre-booking the flight or train lol Comment from : undeadgoat |
Interesting smell… 🤪🤪 Comment from : Kaysha |
I'm a little confused, Liam said he has 2 hours until his flight meanwhile Nicky seemed to get on the train with minimum amount of time spent in the lounge Did the train take 1-2 hours to leave the platform after arriving or something as it takes just over 3 hours to get to Amsterdam via train and the flight takes just over an hour plus the 2 hours Liam had to wait so I'm confused as to how Liam was late? Did I miss something in the video? Comment from : FC360D |
Why has Aline (the Eurostar assistance) a Belgian flag on her batch? Belgium is a country with 3 different official languages, I think a French, Dutch, and/or German flag is way less confusing Comment from : Pottkind |
It's so awesome to see two openly gay men having such easy, relaxed fun brThank you for being outstanding role models for happy gay life! Comment from : Snugglysmoo |
I guess it would have been nice to know the price for both journeys Comment from : Aarif Khan |
great video But the fly-guy only won because of City aairport Most flights London-Amsterdam go via Gatwick/heathrow/Stanstead or Luton Had he chosen one of them he would've lost Comment from : Peter Heerens |
What is the price difference? 🤔 Comment from : Colin Newton |
