Calculating from door to door the train is a big time win for me I always fly from Eindhoven to Stansted The total time of traveling from my house to st Pancras is over an hour more than by train But train is more expensive, so depends on the plans for us

Next time y'all's are in the states, you should do a train vs plane between Miami and Orlando once Brightline starts service between the two The flight takes approx 1 hr & 15 minutes while the train (which is a diesel powered Siemens trainset similar to Austria's Railjet) is expected to take around 3 hours

Flying without luggage, as in this video, would be a ireeeaaally/i rare circumstance Not having to deal with baggage check likely shaved iat least/i 40 minutes off of your flyer’s travel time … if not over an hour!!brbrMake it realistic next time, bring luggage, show the whole arduous process involved in flying!

how where the costs? and how far ahead did you have to book the ticket? Those are quite important things and if you travel by train, you dont have to be 2 hours ahead on the station for a asshole going through your stuff and make you take of your clothes

Not quite fair I've been upgraded to business on the KLM AMS - LCY flight before and it is probably equivalent to the train, plus its only an hour! You only need to be at City Airport 30 minutes before the flight, so he could have hung around in London for another hour Without the premier ticket on the train it looked like there would be another hour wait to check in! KLM out of City is a great service, I often connect out of Schipol now rather than travel across the city to get to Heathrow! Train is often a LOT more expensive as well, especially that Premier ticket

That's actually a great result for the train, I got my baggage lost over the summer so I'd love to take the train to most places instead of plane, unfortunately, it's not always the cheapest or quickest option which is annoying as I'd be far more inclined to take the train, we need more funding and public ownership of rail!

I’d imagine, though I’ve never been in the Eurostar before, the Eurostar to be faster because there’s more fiddly parts to go through: awaiting gate announcement, checking-in, security, waiting for takeoff, waiting after landing, transit, passport check etc Whereas Eurostar is there, passport check and done

I am from Amsterdam but lived in London for three years Therefore I made this journey about 50 times Unfortunately, the tickets of KLM are usually about 1/3 of the price compared to Eurostar In case you fly EasyJet (LHR - AMS) it can be even cheaper That said, I would have definitely chosen train over plane if the prices were not that high Not sure what the price differences are at the moment

I'm a little confused, Liam said he has 2 hours until his flight meanwhile Nicky seemed to get on the train with minimum amount of time spent in the lounge Did the train take 1-2 hours to leave the platform after arriving or something as it takes just over 3 hours to get to Amsterdam via train and the flight takes just over an hour plus the 2 hours Liam had to wait so I'm confused as to how Liam was late?
