The reason for the eurostar not stopping at Schiphol is that there isnt enough room for security checkpoints on the train station The thalys does stop there however, (since it doesn't require you to go through security, compared to the eurostar service) Comment from : DAAN_oontje |

I'm doing this trip next week, having travelled to Amsterdam both by plane AND the stena line, I'll now be interested to see how,as a disabled passengerbr( wheelchair) much it differs from my previous modes of transportbr Because I'm in a wheelchair,brI've been upgraded from standard class to standard Premium as that's aparently where the wheelchair spaces are located TO be 100 honest, I dislike long journeys, as i find thembrtiring and stressful, but from what I've seen SO far, this looks about the least troublesome way to go homebr( Amsterdam being my place of birth and where I lived for years before coming to the UK Comment from : Liz B |
Oh last yr back in 2021 I went on the Eurostar to Holland to see my Dutch grandparents and I could understand everything when they were saying we were arriving in Nederland and I'm Dutch btw Comment from : Nikhef |
I think that Amsterdam is fast becoming one of the most important cities in Europe behind London and Paris as much for its handy location and that it's one of the most important hubs in EuropebrbrOn top of that it has an extremely beautiful city, very friendly people and a great airport and a brilliant airlinebrbrThe Dutch people are so easygoing and helpful too Comment from : Neil Burns |
Maybe you should take the chance to visit Rotterdam some day and see for yourself if it holds any real sort of appeal, if you haven't already done sobrbrI do know that it's the busiest port in Europe in terms of trade and also the home of Feyenoord football club but other than that I can't really tell you anything about Rotterdam from a tourists point of view Comment from : Neil Burns |
Best efforts of politicians! brbrVery politely way of saying that some of these unscrupulous individuals tried to destroy a lot of the close bond that we share with our European neighboursbrbrLuckily, we still have a lot very good and decent people like yourself in the UK who can see the bullshit that was/is Brexit for what it really isbrbrNoel, my friend you are clearly no fool👍🤝👏😉😊 Comment from : Neil Burns |
I love Amsterdam and the Netherlands Comment from : Neil Burns |

The thing that now really annoys me is the lack of freedom of movement throughout the rest of Europe, along with having to get our passports stamped limiting us to 90 days within a 180 day period, and there is now the stupid ETIAS visa which is coming soon brbrI miss the good old days of being able to just cross the Channel and stay around the continent without being subjected to an interrogation for why you're coming to the chosen location, how much money you have, return ticket etc brbrMany of us don't have the luxury of dual nationality which would allow us to take advantage of schengen Fu** BrexitbrbrAnd just for the record: I voted remain Comment from : Exiled Viking |

Everytime I go to Amsterdam (and that's many times) I always travel via Brussels Service with Eurostar, that way we can get out at Brussels Midi station and go and get a full meal before heading back to Midi to catch an InterCity train to Schiphol which is near where we stay There are Free Airport shuttles from most hotels so it makes getting to and from the Hotel to Amsterdam Centraal so easy, okay so we have to have a small journey to the centre of Amsterdam everytime but Hey Ho I love trains Comment from : Terence 2E0IPK |

You didn't say how much it was going to cost? Comment from : Phil Abrahams |
This train is a wonder and finally connects Amsterdam with London without the weak link of using Brussels and Belgian trains forwards into Holland Going from the city centre to a city centre is the winner and the obvious space, huge luggage allowance and movement on board advantages make taking a train the best option for many so long as you book in advance and get a cheap ticket Comment from : shenanigans |
Would love to travel this way between Rotterdam and the UK Shame that there's no decent, non-overpriced options to connect onwards domestically within the UK Comment from : ZambiblasianOgre |

The greatest appeal of Rotterdam is not only business, but it is the first mayor trainhub on this line for trains to other parts of The Netherlands in the east, southeast and northeast aswell as the nothern part of Germany Comment from : Patrick |

Hi Noel, the Eurostar that I took on 22nd June 2019 between London and Brussels Midl, did touch 319 kmph or around 199/200 mph after it crossed to France, but I remember it travelling at 199/200 kmph or around 124/125 mph within England till (probably) Dover and its speed does increase even when it is under the Chunnel, I think it is allowed to cross or touch 320 kmph only during its run within France and also probably in Belgium and the Netherlands I thought you mentioned that Eurostar does 186 mph in England (too!), which I think is not the case Later, on 25th June I came back by flight from Zurich to London and the next day, I took the Virgin from London (Euston-??) to Liverpool (the station near Albert Docks, yes, it's the) Lime St railway station, to visit Anfield and buy LFC merchandise and came back the same day Those Virgins did 199/200 kmph, which I reckon is the max speed at which fast Inter-city/country trains are allowed to travel in England, including the Eurostar and SNCFs Am I right? Comment from : Narasimhan Srinivasan |
