Even the Spanish must speak English No dubbing there But the Germans? «No, can’t be bothered with such an inferiour language Let the dubber do the job!» brThis is an international product, But Germans are not willing to talk EnglishbrbrWe also see this in comment sections, where treads are in English, but where Germans routinely brakes in with their German Comment from : TH |

I feel like urban planning in the US hyperfocuses on the social side of planning and all but ignores the innovations in technological advances of the built world outside of chasing grant $s for LEED certification or various tax credits (historical, LIHTC, etc) But I'm only an American with a masters in planning working for the federal housing department (meaning I interact almost exclusively with people via grant funding) Comment from : J S |

Thank you so much for this lecture!brLiving in Asia, I find the streets so inhumane On the same road, only a narrow space is provided for people to walk, compared a large space for the cars Living humans have to be squeezed and conflict for just walking, while the inorganic machines enjoy such large comfortable places But the solution is not demolishing everything (especially the plants) but reduce cars instead Mobility (vehicles) is taking up too much space brFor building materials, if the forest can be regrown (plant 10 trees for felling 1) that is good idea, but plants also have strong emotions and can feel pain, so using inorganic materials could be easier I like the idea of reusing or subtly fixing the existing old buildings instead of constructing new onesbrThe fastest way for the Carbon neutrality is developing Free Energy (etheric energy) like those in Nikola Tesla's mind Comment from : Multi Verse - UFO |

The fact that this documentary is called "Urban Planners get creative" but there are no actual urban planners in it, only corporations and architects talking about what cities should be I like the spirit of the documentary, it brings interesting topics to the table However, I think there is a misconception about what urban planning/design is and the range of professionals who collaborate in it Comment from : Carlos S |

I live in America, this ain't happening here! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We had people throwing temper tantrums because they had to wash their hands and put on a 😷😷 during the height of COVID-19, we can't get big things done Anything proposed to move EVERYONE forward in America is immediately attacked with lies and propaganda, VERY SAD! My nation has an outdated transportation system, healthcare system and justice ⚖️ system, we are going backwards Racism and gun violence is destroying any substantive progress in America; does anyone here in the comments live in a thriving, non-violent nation that does smart things every time, please share how your intelligent nation does things! Yeah, I like the ideas presented here but think that energy-sourcing of hydrogen solutions is bogus, including the marketing term 'green hydrogen' I think those that push hydrogen fuels are looking for a new commodity to exploit with future price trappings We've heard of promotions like "Too cheap to meter" in the past Fossil fuels need to be gone, yes, and the sooner the better, but replacing one commodity to be played with another is dead wrong It's a self-made pricing trap Hydrogen may have advantages with singular applied technologies of the future where sourcing and usage are all located close in near the tech applicationbrbrThe usage of previously purposed buildings is very interesting and has some real cost advantages IMO Good idea Comment from : Tim Colby |
Some strange statements here Reusing old buildings is hardly a new idea nor is using local materials, which is why there is so much brick cos there is a lot of clay It’s also strange to say clay (presumably for bricks) is not as durable as concrete Brick is a very durable material and can last thousands of years Company towns is not exactly groundbreaking either irrespective of the technological gloss Comment from : Jon Talbot |

Cities are already to a large degree on their path for development There will likely be an inflection which sparks each to develop a particular type of way and for the new cities to be established and built from scratch in this way I think the land will be better managed and more people will be moving to live in the cities I like the residential quarter in Berlin! The economy needs to promote shareholders equity in building these homes for people! I forget what they are called in Japanese, and this city may be a bit novel, but I'd open a venture capitalist tea house bistro there I really like the diversity and plentitude of possibilities I'd like to make a distinction between corn and food City food production could be significantly regional, but every location cannot grow corn, or staple crops How many kilometers does an average Amazon truck or van drive delivering goods daily I know Amazon could be the first to pay money for hydrogen What I would do is have the fuel at the Amazon distribution center, the driver has two shifts, comes back to the distribution center for lunch, fills back up and delivers the rest of his packagesbrYou have to have a law which preserves land for mixed city / nature use Merging city with nature requires a plan which increases the equity for the people who purchased in the zone You would want impressives homes built, they need to be highly invested in wind/solar and their farms would be adjacent to the bike trails, horse trails, etc Architecture is such a fine study, I think there will be plenty of expressions by them, and its their design of what natural about living in a city Good thing about each city, they're all surrounded by rural and wilderness lands I think it's understanding what sort of energy and production from the rural areas into the city, and the permanence of rural areas is dependent upon them being productive The ambition of more people living in the city and making enough money to eat better quality food produce locally is a strong driver The city consume, the city will merge with nature The diversity of architectural approaches is consistent with the economy investing in the direction of the lowest possible Carbon cycle Most fuels will be produced, which fuels utilized will depend on company, industry, and region The cars manufactured on one continent will likely be designed to be used in a hemisphere of trade for fuels energy I'm thinking that fuels energy production could be uniform to a degree where manufactured fuels would be utilized by hybrid/electrics and planes and shipping cargo and raw materials and finished goods, and hydrogen is used by Amazon, UPS, FedEx and Yacht owners The science of regulating climate, or regulating carbon in the atmosphere, is one of introducing and extracting carbon from the atmosphere The economy needs to be designed to find ways for extraction to be profitable Extracting carbon before it is introduced into the atmosphere by burning plastic and making concrete from the ash is a technology which extracts carbon The analysis isn't always was the carbon extracted from the atmosphere Developing technology which allows us to extract carbon in a carbon saturated condition allows us to generate the money we need to extract trace amounts of carbon from the atmosphere and it propels our understanding of what we will need to do to make Venus a habitable world We will extract carbon when we manufacture fuel, so making concrete from the plastic from this fuel is very resourceful and the process of production is a carbon reducing loop Comment from : Bradley Adams |

the concept of turning cities into forests is foolish act because so many forests are converting into deserts If we follow his idea we will end up by cutting the forest According to him he will use more wood to build a house So each house will use more than 100 trees To grow them it will take 20 to 50 years Comment from : Gossips Today |

Bravo! Very good and instructive video about how our future cities should be integrally part of the nature Optimality is the key word Comment from : mohamed ali berrada |
To plan our cities we usually forget the role of geographers, and I think that we need to know where to place urban functions first instead of desing concrete spaces We need to know and plan the way this places are going to interact with the rest of the city (for example from a mobility point of view), and make them the most functional and optimal from the most ecological, social and economical point of view So, in conclusion, architects should not be in charge of planning cities but in designing the diferent places that make them up This is the big mistake of urban planning nowadays Comment from : Sergio Basilio |

"The cities of the world are suffering the same problem of pollution, traffic and safety" so what Toyota proposes? Keep the roads for cars, are another for smaller cars (they call it personal mobily vehicles) and a serpent like path (much longer than needed obviously) for pedestrians Bikes dissapears, obviously, so Toyota would continue selling cars Comment from : Cayetano Ruiz Corraliza |
What I understand is every developed country understand the way forward to sustainable future and understand they need to change a lof things which does not suit to the new model At the same time change requires great amount of energy And energy means more pollution This will be very long way to walk but I am excited to see this happening in great scale This will be a next revolution Comment from : Elvin |

I don't get why they show Dubai when talking about 'future'? Dubai urban planning is even worse than most American cities which are totally car dependent and unwalkable Dubai is designed for cars, not people It's one of the most hostile places for anyone who is not in a car Even crossing a road at dedicated places is stressful and dangerous Please STOP showing or mentioning Dubai when talking about 'future' Comment from : D S |
