I'm a Korean and we don't do cosmetic procedures for getting a job Job seakers especially the young after graduation from the uni don't have money and it's really unrelated things, it's better to apply more companies than spend time and money for plastic surgeryAnd not every Korean do the procedure, actually 80 of Koreans don't so it's really annoying when people ask me about plastic surgery and check me whether I do it or not after they knew that I'm a Korean What do you guys want to know, do you want to check how we are insecure or crazy or a monster? We are just ordinary people, and we don't make any crimes I know our standards are stronger than other countries, and I also recognize it as a problem, but you guys are too mean to repeat this again and again, exaggerate much farther than the reality(it seems you want to blame someone just for a fun/relieve stress or get a comfort to check how nice your life is) and demonize

South Korea has some really toxic beauty standards In some aspects South Korea is ahead of most other countries but a lot of the traditions really hold it back The outdated age system, the standards that women are held to, eating live animals, etc, is not only problematic but is holding the country back

I fully understand how appearance benefits women allowing them far greater opportunities in life Both my sister and I grew up with very unfortunately looks Me a huge nose, small eyes and a round face Her a double chin at any weight, thin lips and no cheebones We were invisible at best, treated like crap at worse by people of all ages, men and women brShe got plastic surgery and I haven't It was a huge change that we both noticed separate and out together She was now the hot one who was given everything Everyone was so nice to her Dates, jobs and more I'm still invisible or the 'ugly' friend The only benefit I have is good skin even at 40 keeping me looking very young where she needs to keep having procedures done but that isn't going to get me decent treatmentbrPersonality doesn't even matter when I'm never given a chance to exist and hers is overlooked
