This is the kind of video that could only be made (or believed) by someone who doesn’t live in NY It’s a very good example of how places that look good “on paper” are not necessarily the best places to live Yes, Long Island is fine (if you like traffic), it has good schools and of course beaches, but 9/10ths of the best places in the entire state? Really?!brIgnoring amazing places in the City, most of Westchester, the Hudson Valley, further upstate (Finger Lakes, Catskills) and so much more shows a lack of actual NY knowledge

Home prices are astronomical, as are property taxes in both Nassau and Westchester Counties Teacher and public official salaries are extremely high And the traffic and road conditions are quite impossible

I grew up in Bellerose Village, which was considered the "rich" part of Floral Park (kids in BV go to school in FP and the homes cost more in BV than in FP) Left there in the early 90's so I can''t say about now, but I can say in the 70's and 80's there was a HUGE drug problem there Hopefully it's a bit "cleaner" there now Otherwise it was a really nice place to grow upbrbrThe streets in Floral Park are all named after flowers because in the late 1800's & early 1900's, Floral Park was "the flower growing capital of the world" Streets are named after what flowers grew along that street

Unfortunately Nick low balled all the home prices for these areas My daughter and son-in-law bought a small home last year in Williston Park and it costs $650,000 I have family in East Hills, Sands Point and the homes in their area go for 15 M and up I live in a nice part of Queens in an attached colonial home and the property assessment for my home is $850,000 I get phone calls from realtors all the time looking for homes to buy The homes don't stay on the market long It is very difficult for young people starting out to own a home in any good area of NY and they need to make 6 figures for sure That's because property taxes in Nassau County are astronomical!!!

We live in the ADK mountains, 1/2 mile on Hudson River on 43 acres! We paid 6K+ in property taxes When we lived in Rotterdam, NY, we had a 3500 sq ft 1941 cape Our taxes were 8K When I lived in Buffalo, NY, and worked at UB, that was the lowest in property taxes

Kind of a weird list Alot of the places mentioned here arent even really towns in ad of themselves Like Great Neck Plaza is just a part of Great Neck North Hills is effectivley a part of Manhasset and to put places like Malverne and Massapequa here and not Huntington, Oyster Bay, Port Washington and alot of the north shore communities is a little silly

This list got old really quick Nassau County is overrated, overtaxed, stuck up, and just plain boring! I live in Dutchess county Also almost impossible to afford unless you use it as the bedroom community it's become This will all come crashing down sometime in the future I hope I live to see it! I currently live in North Carolina but housing is getting super expensive here, not to mention tornadoes and extreme weather every year, I have been seriously thinking about moving to upstate NY I do not mind the cold and I am a programmer I'm pretty sure there could be some opportunities there in tech

I’m a lifelong New Yorker… I’m sorry, but you are WAAAAYYY off with prices!! You can’t even LOOK at a 3 bedroom home in Great Neck Plaza for under 12 m (still needing work)… Rockville Center? Similar… Massapequa PK? A shoebox will set you back 900k… ABSOLUTELY WRONG ABOUT MALVERNE, unless you live crime! People in NY understand that IF you live in Long Island, Suffolk (not Nassau) is safer, better schools, more bang for your buck… Nassau crime is VERY high!!!! It has some awesome spots, but you get VERY little for your $, and the crime is a real issue… brYou seem like a great guy, but you are TRULY off… Floral Park 😂… few Americans, and their own police? The weather is NOT the best on “ The Island” living on the West side of the Hudson ( part of the Northeastern Corridor) is the best weather It rarely gets a lot of snow, it’s not to humid in the summer We aren’t far from NYC, Mountains, lakes & beaches There is only one way off “ The Island” We can go anywhere I’m not telling the names of the NY& NJ River Towns 😊

Was born in The Bronx and lived there from 1966-76 before parents moved me to Winnetka, Illinois which was a great place to be in the 80s Moved back to Manhattan in 1990 for work Met my wife and we’ve been in Long Island since 99 & we will never leave Best place to raise a family in the country

Massapequa Park is next door to North Amityville which is a ghettoMalverne is half good half so-so Merrick is much better and Huntington in Suffolk County is very active and popular This list is not great No idea who told you that you could get a home in Great Neck in the 400's The place is much closer to 600-700 K, maybe a small condo for 450 Williston Park is ok but nothing great No Garden City instead? I think some locals pulled your leg with this list

the capital region of upstate ny is the best!! places outside of Albany such as Latham, Clifton Park, and Saratoga are the best!!! saratoga is a year round town but especially touriststy in summer for the track and celebrities homes
