I haven't watched the video yet, but I can answer the rhetorical question posed in the title I live here and I can say that it's all a lie What you see about Costa Rica, for the most part, is just great propaganda Costa Rica's soil, water, food, and air is poisoned from agro chemicals and general irresponsibility of the citizens Every government ministry that claims to protect is corrupt It's supposed to be illegal to cut trees - that's a joke It's supposed to be illegal to fill in wetlands - joke Illegal to construct in the maritime zone of the coasts - BIG JOKE Forests are being cut, waterways are being blocked and too much land is being destroyed All in the name of supposed progress masking the ignorance Glyphosate is marketed as safe and is rapidly killing the flora and fauna here due to the rampant usage by the citizensalong with Paraquat, DDT, and many other chemicals known to cause EXTREME harm It's all about money Costa "Rica" will soon be no more in the Caribbean The beautiful southern coast line that I used to know is being carved out and desecrated It's now all about bars, cars, and real estate Puerto Viejo Talamanca has become an overcrowded and disgusting place to visit The air here is overwhelmed with the sounds of dump trucks, loud motorcycles, and the stench of it all No more fresh air here Meanwhile, those of us who live in some of the remaining forest are forced to hear the sound of chain saws all day and watch the aquatic life die off in rapid numbers Don't be fooled by the so-called "Protected" areas They are filled with loggers and banana plantations who actually pay to have the local wildlife killed What's happening here is a crime against nature and humanity If you come and give your money, you are a part of it I am ashamed that I didn't know more before I purchased land here All that is labeled as "green", is just a big joke! At least I can protect the land that I have Not nearly enough people care to do sobrShame on this government Shame on all who take part in the destruction that is happening here Keep the images of Blue Morphs and Red Eyed Tree Frogs in your mind Soon, that will be the only place they exist
