I've lived in the city (Queens & Staten Island specifically) all my life As well as working for the campus police at Columbia University for ten years And in those ten years it was Always the students from like small little Mayberry towns in the middle of nowhere that were always the ones that got robbed, scammed or umm worse 😒 Crime is an ever present factor of life in the city (and when l say "city" I mean the entire city- not just Manhattan So Don't walk around oblivious of your surroundings Not trying to make you paranoid butttttt be a little paranoid 😆😆😆brAlso the #1 way to really piss off the wrong NYer is to walk around in slooooow I'm a tourist mode NYers like to get from point A to point B quickly and you, your spouse and 2 kids gazing up at the Empire state building IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SIDEWALK while all NY has to walk around you should do the trick 😂 Comment from : Ray Barry

I went to NYC in 2014 with my graduating class and I remember being surprised at just how much walking we did I wore relatively comfy shoes but my feet were definetly killing me at the end of every single day The bottoms of shoes were worn entirely by the end of the trip (they were cheap shoes) and to this day I don't think I have done that much walking since! 😅 Comment from : Shania H
