I am a native Pennsylvanian and I live just outside Harrisburg I enjoy living here The problem with the places that you listed is that even though the homes are moderately priced and there is very little crime, there was also absolutely NOTHING to do in any of those towns! So unless you enjoy watching grass grow I would suggest living in other locations Comment from : Octoberfurst |

Saylorsburg PA is nice Close to everything you could ever want or need Ppl keep to themselves here Reasonably cheap Clean Low crime, and thank God for that because we don't have a Police Dept here If we can't handle things ourselves we call PA state police and they arrive in about 20 minutes, depending on traffic lots of farms, like pigs and horses and cows and corn fields And chickens everywhere! However if you want to see lots of beautiful women, you need to attend Reptile shows That's where they seem to go I saw a bunch at the expo in Oaks, OMG Absolute knock outs Other than that, you don't see them We have them But it's not like a city here You don't just see them walking down the street I moved here from the New York City area last year I quickly assimilated to Pennsylvania life If you don't, you're not going to have a good time here I think I even picked up a Pennsylvania accent Comment from : dmale79 |
Fun video We moved into a town called Rural Valley in Armstrong County in 2020 So I looked up the things you focused on We have Xfinity 95 below national crime rate There's not a ton to do, but there's a lake about 10 to 20 minutes away depending whether you're on or off road Keystone Lake It's huge 2 hospitals within 20 to 30 minutes and near a college town And about an hour to Pittsburgh I love PA Lived in small towns here for most of my life brbr *Ebensburg, btw near Portage Comment from : Stacy Sachs |

I bought a retirement home near Honesdale about 15 years ago I retired 4 years ago - but decided to keep one foot still in NJ Both have so many benefits it's hard to let either house go Only thing I don't care for in rural PA: what they call 'dining' is not even close to a run-down diner in NJ Two, 'near by', of which burned to the ground within a few years of each other - now there are even less to choose from But, that's ok - enjoying home cooking on your deck or patio overlooking the beauty of the forest can't be beat anyway :-) Comment from : blujeans 94 |
live 30 minutes south from Muncy and have spent a lot of time in that area beautiful town there are a few hospitals in the area, UPMS in Muncy also a small hospital on the outskirts of Muncy with in Muncy General Hospital and if you go south about 30 minutes you have the main Geisinger hospital in Danville so plenty of health care around also great hunting and fishing if you go to Hughsville which is about 15 minutes away plus close to shopping Comment from : Rotham Farm |

Very nice list and I agree with all but #2 Hometown I grew up in Tamaqua and Hometown is a suburb of there They have the same Zip code even Hometown is Very nice and a good place to live compared to all the other towns in that area but Tamaqua is one of the worst in the state on multiple levels I noticed you didn't even mention Tamaqua There is a hospital in Hazleton that is closer that Wilkes-Barre and also south of there in Lehighton brThat being said Hometown has some GREAT things one of the best farmer's markets every Wednesday! some great places to eat, a bowling alley, and even it's own Walmart which is crazy for a small town And the Mountain Valley Golf has one of the best breakfasts you will ever eat!
