Sadly a 400-450k house at a 7 mortgage rate will cost you around 27k a month for your mortgage So if you are making 100k a year, 50 of your post tax income would be going towards your mortgage 😢

Yeah everyone’s moving to Austin and it’s not a great thing It’s getting so overcrowded, the traffic is getting bad, waits for everything, and just a more fast paced and chaotic vibe Also getting more expensive You’d be lucky to get a nice house under 800,000 It’s also been triple digits for 3 months straight We call it reverse winter because you still have to be inside Not exactly “nice” weather There’s lots to love, but it’s not all roses

I heard/saw no actual evidence or metrics presented related to population growth/census data or any other indices referenced that quantifies this list I have no clarity on the methodology to substantiate the content

I'll probably go for either Charlotte, San Antonio or Austin I need big cities that don't get me bored easily while also staying reasonable in home prices Austin is good as it's becoming a tech hub which is my field Charlotte is also good as it's a big city in an east coastal statebrbrI wouldn't choose to be in Wisconsin as I don't like too much snow in the winter I also don't want to see hurricanes or fire ants so Florida isn't that suitable

Agree with most of the list but if you choose Austin, Texas (or any of the surrounding suburbs) good luck finding a home for under 800k, or ANY home for ANY price Austin is experiencing some major growing pains We’ve had a flood of new people move in during the past 3 years and are having a big house shortage

We researched Colorado Springs several times by visiting, researching statistics, seeing what the local news had to say & what was going on Beforehand, I was stationed here at "Pete Field" which is now "Space Force" in 1982 for a couple years, & had a good idea about the weather & climate Well, things change in 40 years The "Springs" is no longer the conservative stronghold that it (used to be) In 1982 the population was about 200 thousand, it's now about 500 thousand give/take, more give than take The infrastructure & roads is still dated, & it has become a liberal/millenial stronghold Nothing against those folks, but the "cancel culture" ideology runs rampant here Sure, it's an "inclusive" environment as long as you're 30 or under Simply "researching" doesn't show the deep down/ behind the curtain things of what' it's really like to think It's a "good" place to move to To really "know" someplace you have to actually, physically live there for about a year before making a choice to pull up stakes & hit the trail It's been a real regret since spring of '22 & we may be heading back to AZ, where at least we know the area etc Just saying

Best advice is do your homework as I am very familiar with four of these locations and all four are maxed out price wise so it is not advisable to move and try and raise a family when you and your spouse will be spending almost three weeks pay just to own or rent a homeTen years ago these places were great but those days are long gone now
