Hard to believe the ten best places to live in the state are within 45 minutes of each other (except Davidson) I think your personal opinion biases the list too much The foothills and mountains have a lot to offer for those who don't particularly want an urban setting, and there are coastal areas well worth considering if you prefer the beach and flatlands I've lived in the state all my life, 12 years of it in Raleigh and the rest along the foothills in several different towns The "ten" list should be reserved for the places to avoid, there are hundreds of great places to live

I lived in most of these places but want to comment on Pinehurst and Elon Pinehurst is a very pretty town, its safe, quiet, affluent, and idyllic The problem is that unless you are obsessed with golf you will likely get bored as there is nothing to do other than that Also because its a golf town it attracts some young single men but very few young single women so getting a gf there can be hard So while it looks pretty you end up bored and lonely You also have to deal with the golf tourists who can be annoying Elon is really just a college campus in the middle of no where, its not really a town for the most part So unless you are a college kid there is nothing to do and no one to hang out with Even if you are a college kid there isnt much to do other than get drunk

Almost no one who has lived in the Triangle before 20-30 years ago would want to live in Cary The same could be said for Apex, Holly Springs and Morrisville Cary being the worst All of these towns are for transplants I like Raleigh, Wake Forest, Durham and Chapel hill though and there's plenty of transplants there too Home prices have gone up quite a bit since this video was publishedbrbrMy best places in NC are many coastal and mountain towns where good jobs are scarce and probably not the best schools or home prices Beaufort (Crystal Coast), Wilmington, Asheville, Brevard and Waynesville

It WAS the BEST STATE but with the influx of all the newbies it is heading downhill fast I have lived in NC for over 60+ years now and hate to see how bad the crime is getting in all the Bigger Cities as well as in some Rural Towns as well It is sad to watchbrFortunately you did mention several smaller towns that are decent and safer than Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, WS, GSO, & High Point People working in those larger areas should look 15 to 20 miles outside of them for a house brWe will be retiring soon and we are headed up into the Mountains(NOT 3rd world ASHEVILLE👎) or possibly even out of State to a better/safer place as we get older

I actually lived in Yadkin, butts up against Davidson and I ran, sold my home and ran as fast as I can, closer you go to the mtn's, the worse it is! just saying! (oh and on a FYI note, I lived in the nice area of Yadkin, not some shady mobile home type, and still dope central!) the fentanyl crisis has hit NC hard!

I agree sauni p but I say the whole state of North Carolina was not designed for such rapid growth When you see development going up at such a rapid rate it breeds red flags; and when you try to model yourself after other people, things & places such as NYC NY, Atlantic City NJ, Philadelphia PA, Boston MA, Chicago IL, Baltimore MD, Las Vegas NV, Houston TX, Oakland & Los Angeles CA, Miami FL, Atlanta GA, etc and open yourself up to receive others you also take on their character & nature, as well as behaviors When you also consider the high increased crime rates, homicides, and other sufferings, etc you gotta ask yourself: Is or was it worth it? These are signs of pride, greed, poor leadership The other questions is: who's profiting and benefitting from all of this? Where is all the funding coming from?

good grief I l ive in NC, and those places he's got mentioned here are definitely in my list of "nice place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there" --- give me the northwest corner of the state all day every day Incomes are lower up here, maybe even the standard of living, but that really depends on perspective I suppose this is a good vid to study if you can't stand to be too far away from metropolitan life But wow, this is a list for city folks if there ever was one
