Born and raised in La and moved to Atlanta in 1993 Very eye opening Louisiana was once an oil rich state and have nothing to show for it The schools, roads, infrastructure, and crime have gotten worse I love going home to visit but can’t spend no more than 3 days in town How can an oil rich state be so poor?

I used to live in Leesville, Louisiana It was super depressing The amount of unprofessionalism and apathy you see in the people is off the charts The worst part is that things will probably not get any better there Leesville suffers from what is called the "brain drain" The best and the brightest that they have, look for a way to move out Tons of young people who seem to have it together, will either go off to college, join the military, or leave to live with a relative out of state And they all end up relocating out of state Usually Texas, (that's the route I took) Leaving the dregs of society behind

Louisiana is one of those unique places, where if you not from there you’re getting robbed 😂😂😂 other than that, most everyone kinda stays on their side of town & don’t bother anyone I can’t criticize it too much, regardless of their circumstances, they have a better sense of community than any other place I’ve been & 90 of trouble makers are out of towners, violent felons/offenders from New Orleans, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Little Rock, Phoenix & various parts of Mississippi & Florida My uncle was a narcotics agent out there & people from those places were the majority of his arrests state wide working undercover The state is fine, but I’m not one to be on social media or play games all day, so when I go there I’m on week long fishing trips & planning the next one for the following week, I don’t want to gloat but being able to retire from the military at age 37 with a pension makes life ALOT more enjoyable, I think having the ability to do what you want whenever you want makes the difference no matter where in the world you go

I have an uncle who was born in Crowley but has lived in Lake Charles since the 1950's My father grew up in Kaplan, just south of Crowley He moved to Maryland after he got out of the Air Force and married my Mom I used to love going there as a kid It just seemed like a cool small town to me My relatives used to say cajuns lived south of I-10 Those north of I-10 were rednecks!

I'm born and raised in New Orleans, lived in Texas since Hurricane Katrina 🌀 and just moved back home to New Orleans about 5 years ago I was culture shocked moving back home as I was culture shocked when displaced after Katrina I've about settled in now, but the crime is quite different than it was before Katrina It's super uneasy and I don't fell super safe like I did growing up in New Orleans as a child and before Hurricane Katrina Still I love my city, but I like the Northshore better More peaceful and a lot less crime to deal with Be safe y'all 🙏🏾
