The whole cable car-volcano-pirate ship circuit is touristy as heck, but you kind of have to do it, and the views are incredible on a clear day Don't miss the open air sculpture museum, it's fantastic! I spent my birthday in Hakone last month during my vacation and it was a great experience You definately had better weather because when we were on the ropeway up to Owakudani, there was a solid wall of fog that you couldn't see through Owakudani was also covered in fog but it lifted several times for a few minutes so people could take pics Comment from : Perdomot
