One of the many problems no one addresses is the Panamanian currency Although Panama has its own currency (the Balboa), however, Panama also uses the US dollar The Balboa to US dollar exchange rate is 1-to-1, which doesn't make since when it comes to GDP The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Panama was worth 5294 billion US dollars in 2020 Compare that to the US GDP in 2020 at $2093 trillion So how did the 1-to-1 exchange rate balance off? Someone with subject matter expertise in economy explain thisI am not convinced that Panama is the best or most beneficial place to retire Healthcare and medical services outside of Panama City is horrible DO NOT expect hospitals outside of Panama City to have the same quality Start asking what expats do not like about Panama

I am a "Canal Zone Brat" Great grandfather went there in 1913 as a telegraph man on the rail road during final stages of construction He was awarded a Roosevelt Medal for his servicebrMy mom was born there, and my father went in 1952 and worked at Mira Flores locks as a locomotive operator One of my uncles ran the rail road and another was in charge of Pier 18brThis is where I grew up and I am glad I got to see this video I remember riding the Diablo Rojo ( Red Devil) busses, hanging out on the causeway, and we went to Tacoma all the time What a wonderful growing up I had I am rooted in the desert southwest now Thanks for sharing!

Crime levels are high, and we're not talking about petty theft here Violent crime such as armed robberies (which have been known to occur in restaurants), shootings, rape, muggings, car theft, car jackings, and 'express kidnappings' from ATMs, just to name a few – and that's just in Panama city

Since I was a kid I thought PANAMA was part of Puerto Rico! lol! I can see why now It looks alot like Puerto Rico in many ways Nice to know if God forbid i should not be able to return to PR, I can go to Panama and feel at home The music, the people, the architecture and food,reminds me of home I also found out a long time ago by accident, that Reggaeton Music(Plena in PANAMA)was on radio stations and clubs out in the open in PANAMA before it became popular in Puerto Rico where it was still underground and not popular I met a lady from Panama in church Sadly, we were from two very different time periods and we missed the BOAT as it were for a relationship When I hear of Panama, I think of Isabel what a woman! Viva PANAMA! Y VIVA PUERTO RICO!!!!!!!!

My father was stationed in Panama in World War ll He was sick with yellow fever and was sent home He was 19 at the time and was very sick He lost most of his hair and it never came back When he was well again he went right back to the Army Air Core My daddy was a tough man I respected and loved him so much Thank you again Gabriel Hope you have a nice evening Take care!🍃😁🍃

Nice video Gabriel Shame about the weather (Rain) It's amazing how ships are raised and lowered again thru the canal I cruised the Suez Canal in 2017 Took around 8-10hrs as well, but it was just slow sailing the entire trip no lowering or raising of ships there Safe Travels :)

Aawww!!! You finally made it to Panama!!! I know this was just a quick stop But you most definitely need to come back and explore more of it Specially during the summer or dry season, between late December and early April You will love to visit Bocas De El Toro in the Atlantic side, go hiking in the mountains of Chiriqui province in the border with Costa Rica Go swimming in the waterfalls of hillside country of Penonome (Pozo Azul and Ta Vida Beautiful!!!! Just to mention a few) And yes!! San Blass islands are a most!!! I am planning to go next year sometime in March Also, whenever you decide to go back, I have family in the country side that could accommodate your stay They are retired from the US and now live in Panama own a really nice place on the foothills of Penonome province about 2 hours north of Panama City
