Gee, I got a little confused with your trip through Viejo I kept seeing familiar sites the flower covered artesanal walkway leading to the lookout for the Pacific entrance to the Panamá Canal and the busts of the Frenchmen, etc Familiar, yes, because I was at those locations What kept me doubting my memory is that wrap-around causeway that seems to dominate the ocean view However, I realize, now, that it wasn't built yet when I had visited the city years ago It just goes to show that the world is ever changing One should always travel as soon as possible or you might miss out on special views, sites, or cultures What is here today may be gone tomorrow---demolished or "improved"

the common translation of Casco Viejo is Old Quarter though the literal translation of casco is helmet or shell not sure where you got compound from, but ya, same idea I guess

I so enjoy Casco Viejo, or any old town for that matter, because it is so walkable The old buildings and those that are updated to the current style but with the old design intact I will try to remember don’t go to top tourist attractions on a Sunday as the crowds at the Panama Canal was crazy Hot temperature and crowds of people Yikesss; thanks for toughing it out for us 😁
