The last drugs prescribed from the cardiologist are all standard cardiac maintenance drugs, cheap, common and readily available ones Nothing special there I am puzzle why the doctors at NHS can't think about this simple drugs I think the bulk of the cost was for the heart scan That would have cost around RM4,000 Comment from : Kathiravan Kandasamy |

Don't overestimate the standard of healthcare in Malaysia or assume that the last doctor has done anything that will benefit you in the longer time They'll always be happy to take money from you for every test and over prescribe drugs Malaysia has a massive oversupply of doctors and dentists and the fact they're not earning far more overseas tells a story brbrThe level of expertise in no way matches that you'll find in the UK It's all very hit and miss and the fact you can get appointments and tests near instantly has no relevance to diagnosis You do however have an advantage in that you can afford to pay for treatments and while you may think the total is reasonable, an average local couldn't even consider that as an option They would use the state system that is very poor, the same one that ion the event of a catastrophe like an accident you would be taken to Make no mistake that serious accidents that would be survivable here will result in death in Malaysia Given the appalling standard of driving in Malaysia, and poorly maintained vehicles, this should always be foremost in your mind when travelling The equivalent of GPs almost always offer poor treatment and in general, you're better off self diagnosingbrbrMalaysia is great but it takes a long time to learn how everything works IF you had/have any real health concerns, the best thing would be to get over to Singapore Comment from : byteme9718 |

Thien2! He mentioned you as a cool guy🤭🤭🤭 Comment from : BYSL |

Well, it may have a cost a small fortune in the end but I would've paid 5 times as much for someone to get to the bottom of it - what's your health worth? Everything! Glad to know you're ok brbrSo in short, was it the specific drugs (and dose) which solved it? And if it as blood pressure meds, why didn't UK doctors try prescribing it? I didn't think there were THAT many variants of drugs for controlling blood pressure Comment from : David D |

Hi there Glad to see you’re doing well after all those hospital visits here in Malaysia One thing I’d like to point out is that Penang hospital is a well known charity hospital and that is the reason why your cost of treatment there was very low Had you gone to a ‘commercial’ hospital in Penang, I would estimate the cost to be triple at least Even with that higher cost, I expect it to be still reasonably priced Looking fwd to seeing more of your videos - cheers Amirul Comment from : greenfixer |
wow that is cheap In KL health check can come out to RM2000! You better check with cardio Could be some of your blood veins to your head obstructed I had almost same symptoms I had 3 stents And the headache disappear Comment from : Azhar Ahmad |

Dropping off 20 pounds of extra weight will help to lower your medication intake! Dropping ALP & AST value by 1/3 would be most beneficial Stay healthy Regards Comment from : whlawson |

Add on important information for all is that you have options to take the Drs prescription chit and purchase your medicines OUTSIDE at commercial pharmacists which can be HALF the price charged in private hospitals Also when choosing private ( not for profit) hospitals , when overseas any institutions which possess international Accreditation such as the JCI (Google it) allows you to know which hospitals are "world class" However do note the prices are also commensurate and locals who have experience of both may posit that another institution who decided to go for a different or local Accreditation may be better , more affordable, friendlier or more efficient due to variable factors Comment from : Dik-Hau Cheong |

Good to know that the condition of your health improved a lot now as we aged, it is important to be more careful with the food that we consume, the amount of rest as well as the need to reduce on alcohol intake if not totally stop taking any at all I am 65 and alhamdullillah I am quite healthy and have not experienced any health issues What I had and is still practising is that I fast two days in a week ieon every monday and thursday maybe you and your wife could try this new challenge ! 😄 anyway, I wish you all the best, take care and stay safe always you are always welcome to come back to Msia for medical treatment 🌺🐈⬛🐈🐒💐 Comment from : Maziah Ismail |

I’m glad you’re feeling better Out of curiosity, as I’ve watched your videos I’ve noted that you seemed to get worse after you had COVID Did anyone ever suggest that had aggravated your cardiac health? Not uncommon Do take care You two have become members of the family Comment from : Dorothy Moller |
Neil, wow, you’ve been thru a lot I appreciate your honesty and what you’ve shared about how hard this has been on you and Sarah brbrI heard you say one thing that really concerned me I’m going to give some feedback, it is offered in love, not judgment You mentioned that your cardiologist said you had something “that might rupture” and advised you to not exercise Oh my! I strongly encourage you to slow everything down and get more information Heart issues that rupture are or could be aneurysms- that is serious life threatening business I wonder if it would be good to have Sarah listen in on some of this because you seem to naturally downplay what you’re hearing I may be totally misreading you I apologize if I am But I’m concerned that you tend to self refer to ENT due to dizziness when really it might be better to start with internist and allow that doc to refer you out to specialists Please slow down and focus on addressing your health You’re a sweet guy and I want you around for Sarah and for us I’m worried! Take care- Comment from : Whit Stodghill |
That is amazingly affordable In the US, a 5 min consult with a doctor is like $300 without insurance Even with insurance, the out of pocket costs for all those procedures would be be much more than what you paid Get well soon! Comment from : Jane Muses |

Seems we are always following the same things, but with me over 10 years older ! In October before I went to Thailand for a month my doctor wanted to re asses my blood pressure tablets, I’ve been on them 20 years ! brSo he decided to do it on my return, but no sooner than I returned I was off again and I’m finally seeing him this Wednesday brbrThe efficiency of the tests out there is remarkable & it’s good to see your feeling better brbrI only wanted to travel for a year, but I’m so close to stopping now and just having holidays Comment from : Slip Away with the Joneses |
I was wondering if turning in your claim would benefit you if you did have a large claim later in the year because it would count against your deductible most likely At least that's how it works in the USA Cumulative for the year Comment from : Rose |
I am glad you got to the bottom of what was ailing you, Neil Hope you and Sarah can relax now and feel less weight on your shoulders, and just enjoy the next chapter of your slow travels I appreciate you sharing this medical journey w us The total cost was phenomenal, and the level of care you received sounds brilliant 👏🏻 👌🏻 Look forward to your next video!
