Having lived many years close to SMA it was one of the places I didn't like to visit too often Mainly due to the amount of US citizens living there It kinda took away of the charm of the once nice city

Absolutely NOT! SMA is the most overrated city in México It’s a beautiful city but not the most for sure I chose Morelia over SMA when I decided to move to Mexico last year in December The main church is pretty from the outside but hideous from the inside! Morelia cathedral is way better from inside out! I have never heard of Morelia until I watched your top places that you made a couple of years ago (maybe in 2019?) I would choose Guanajuato city over SMA anytime! The street in SMA hurt my feet during my visit and I hated it! Everything is way too expensive and too many gringos! Yikes! 😅😷

We lived in SMA for 18 months - it just wasn't a good fit for us Yes the colonial aspect of SMA can be attractive But we lived in a neighborhood up the hill about 20 min's from centro and it was NOT beautiful It was dirty, unsafe, sooooo many loose dogs I guess I just want people to know ALL cities have all aspects of city life SMA is a tourist/expat center so where visitors spend time is kept up to increase tourism We finally moved to Morelia and love it here - very different feel tot he city but a much better fit for us Visited Puebla and found it to be beautiful also And Guanajuato - comparable to SMA to us AND SMA is so expensive!

It is hard to go wrong if you are in Querétaro, San Miguel or Guanajuato I guess it depends on where you want to have your base of exploration Other comments about how many pueblos mágicos are around there make a good point Greg's point about how Morelia and its catedral also being beautiful is a good point Zacatecas is also a very pretty pueblo/ciudad But if I am taking my gringo friends to a place in Mexico I think a good starting place is the Querétaro/San Miguel/Guanajuato triangle Take a Primera Plus or an ETN bus and you are gold! Buen viaje!!!

Dear Greg and Hillary, please know that we the Mexicans never use that term of "Most beautiful" city/natural place in our country, because if we do we start into an unnecessary discussion that ends in that "there are many top #1 beautiful cities/sites" in Mexico but the difference is in every person needs or likes Thats why we dont use that term For example I have been in San Miguel de Allende for days but I prefer Queretaro, QRO or Puebla, Puebla instead of Allende, but it doesnt mean that those 2 are better than Allende or Allende better than those two, Thats my point

We are Canadians who are lucky enough to own a house in San Miguel We live there had the yearwhen Canada is too cold for us! I have to agree that it is a most beautiful city! We love the food, the architecture, the people and the weather there Thanks for this video Since Covid has prevented us from going there it was so good to see our other home again!
